DUST 514 E3 2011 Trailer

I don't know how good this game is going to be but they claim its a persistent shooter focused on ground combat and planetary conquest. Also it's a console shooter connected to a PC MMO. Dust 514 & Eve Online. Both by CCP. I'm hopeful.

Saw some great gameplay trailers at EVE Fanfest in March. What will make this really unique (if they pull it off) is things you do in one game will have consequences in the other.

Yea something about getting with Eve Online players to cooperate and they do aerial bombardment or something like that and the FPS guys on the ground take out certain locations or achieve certain goals to capture. Not quite sure on the details. I'm interested however because this is the kind of game if even slightly successful will open the doors to similar games over different platforms.

Then it's a hop skip and a jump to a persistent galaxy ala Legion style. With Space combat to Aerial combat to Battletech style combat to Mecahnized combat to Infantry combat. The moment everything from Space to Ground can be covered and everything in between all at the same time then you have one kick ass game with amazing results.

One of these days... but first we take baby steps and this games seems like one of them.

well my exact words when they released the information of what it's being released on was "you have got to be jerking me here", mostly because they are making it PS3 exclusive.

They did NOT tell us it was PS3 exclusive at Fanfest. Lot of grumbling because players had thought/hoped it would be pc/multi-console. I would rather have Dust on one screen EVE on the other 2, than my playstation on and screens running.
