So I got these new speakers as I mentioned below and I love them. They kick ass and I'm really enjoying listening to bullets hit my skull from 360 degrees.

BUT. My motherboard uses the microphone input as the center channel/sub output! WTF?

So now I'm micless, and it really isn't helping. I can't log into the Admins on Duty channel and help people, and I am really no help in a squad anymore because I can't talk to anybody.

I had a little ol' Sound Blaster card that I reinstalled hoping that I could somehow rig it so the MIC goes through the SB card and all my sound goes through the MB, but so far I can't get that to work at all. :wallbash:

In the words of Jar Jar, any help would be hot.

IF you are going to use a second card, look in your bios and make sure that the onboard sound settings isn't on auto, or it will shut off when you plug in the second card. It still may not work, some boards are finicky. I was able to get my old A8vn to work that way, but my new board doesn't. You also have two options beyond that:

1. Get a USB mic
2. Get a dedicated sound card (will help with taking load off of processor too!, I found my audigy 2 platinum for $99 after rebates!)

PS, I was wondering why you weren't saying anything last night in squad. And tell MotherGoose to turn up his mic, it was hard to hear him.

I'll let him know. He's using a terrible mic since his Logitech headset crapped out on him.

Yargh. I still can't get it running. I may end up getting a USB mic, which sucks because I JUST got this one.

It's okay. I'll get some OT money at the end of the week- remember, I'm a government employee. When something breaks, I just throw money at it ;)

Besides- I kind of needed a mic that wasn't attached to the headphones anyway.

I finally gave up and bought a dedicated sound card. Audigy.

I could instantly tell the difference in sound quality (plus, my damn mic finally works again!).

So, I'll be seeing you online again :yaya: Thanks for the help.
