So last night a friend and I were bored and were just driving around on back country roads when we see these two things sitting in the middle of the road. We get a little closer and find that they are two little baby kittens. I'm like, "I'm soo getting out and getting them." So I get out and kinda hunker down and say "kittykittykitty" seeing if they would come to me. One darts off right off the bat and the other little one runs right over to me. It's a baby black and white cat...I'm not quite sute what kind it is. Anyways -- it's furr was completely covered in poo, dirt, and other unmentionables...so I grab it...grab something to put on my lap so I wouldn't get poo all over me...and I bring it home. My friend and I gave it a few baths and cleaned it all up (and named it Oreo :)).
I knew right away that my mom wouldn't let me keep it cuz we have a dog that is absolutly CRAZY about cats. I mean....she don't leave them alone. So I was trying to think of a place I could take it that it would have a good home. Then I think of these people that I know...they have a barn and are huge animal lovers. I give them a call up and ask them if they'd be interested in a cat. They said they were...so I was successful in giving it a home. So...that night after we clean and feed it...we throw some blankets in a tomato box and I hide it out back. In the morning when I wake up (no one was home) I go down and feed it...clean up it's doo-doo and give it another bath. In the middle of giving it a bath, my mom comes home. She comes in the bathroom where I'm cleaning the cat and the look on her face is just pure disgust. But when I said that I wasn't gonna ask to keep him and that I found a home for him...she was just like, "AWWWWW!! IT'S SOO PRECIOUS!!" and was all over it. Haha...kinda funny...
I take Oreo to his new home tomorrow morning...till then I've just been trying to get and keep him healthy and clean.
So that's my little story for ya'll :)...I know it's kinda dumb cuz it's about a cat...but it kinda made me happy...I've never had the pleasure of owning a kitten.

Which is cuter: a cute little kitty that follows you around purring and falls asleep in your lap when you sit down
-- OR --
a cute little kitty that follows you around purring...falls asleep when you sit down and leaves the biggest, smelliest, pile of half diaherrea, half ball of poo right the end of the basement stairs in perfect position for some unsuspecting person to step in.
Yeah. Gross...
Guess that's the price I have to pay though....heh.
I feel really sorry for the other kitten. Its sibling was probably the only friend it had and now its all alone with no idea whats happened to its bro/sis.Its probably still wandering around the same area crying meow meow, pining for the only friend it ever had.Poor kitty

Don't tell me that stuff... :(
If the other one wouldn't have ran off I would've took care of that one to....cleaned it up...fed it...
Poor thing....I hope it's ok. It was near the woods so it can hopefully catch some mice or squirrels..
Now you guys got me worried :(

If it is just a kitten as you said, the thing is probably already dead...the one in the woods. It was already covered in dirt and poo and who knows what else.
Reminds me of one time I was in an industrial area and saw a little kitten just walking in swaggering circles. I got out to investigate and the poor thing was meowing over and over while covered in dirt and it's eyes had completely crusted over so it was effectively blind. There was no sign of any other cats or ownership so I took it to the local vet and let them take care of it as I already have 3 cats and don't need another poop machine. In retrospect the vet probably ended up putting the thing to sleep because they are retarded like that and it would be cheaper for them than to clean it up, give it shots, and find someone to take it.
I once saw a pidgeon commit suicide. There was this huge lorry reversing into a loading bay at like 4mph and i watchted the pidgeon standing there looking at the lorry. It then slowly and calmly walked out infront of the tyre, sat down and waited to be run over.I'm sure it knew what it was doing cause it just watched the tyre approaching and made no attempt to get out the way.The crunching noise was horrible.I found the whole episode quite depressing for some reason.I assume that either its mate had just died or it was getting badly picked on.My guess is that its mate got run over too.

Mmmm, kittens. They are so cute. Good with BBQ sauce too. Oreo's and Atomic Bob BBQ sauce.
***Insert fanatical animal rights rant here please***
OK, I am flame baiting, I admit it. Yes, we have cats, yes, I currently have kittens too if anyone wants one.........

On tuesday night:
My fiance and I are chillin at home, watchin season2 Chappelle, waiting for my friend and his kid to come over and hang out for awhile.
They show up and ring the doorbell. Our dogs go nuts at the front door. I get them away from the door to let our visitors in. Our 50-pound mutt Lakota (total sweetheart, great with kids, barker, mouser, cat chaser, occasionally independently minded) sneaks past me, sneaks past the visitors on the porch, and bolts toward something across the street before I can stop her.
I holler out for her to get back, but when she runs off there's no stoppin her. Two seconds later I hear this terrible yipping/howling and I know she didnt hurt any dogs because she does not attack like that. She is aggressively playfol toward other dogs. I run out the front door and see a puppy pitbull on a leash with a jaw-lock around Lakota's neck and it is not letting go.
We run over there while the dog owner (who is training the pit) is kicking her dog to get it to unlock. It finally let her go, and thankfully it was just holding her but didnt damage her windpipe or break/crush her neck. She's a sweetheart but totally stupid like that.

The other night my brother and I covered these two kittens in poo and dirt and then drove them way out in the middle of nowhere and dropped them off in the middle of the road. It was hilarious. We have no idea what happened to them.

Haha...you're a dork. http://students.cup.edu/kin1543/gfight.gif
I once had a turkey buzzard fly into my car...it hit the windsheild...rolled up over the hood...flew off the back end of the car and just kept flying. The thing never touched the ground. Scared the be-jesus outta me...but after it was all over and I knew it wasn't hurt...it was quite funny.

 Damn, that cracked me up. Close to the funniest thing I've read from Jeff, but the Redy / Phyx ewoks still kill me...
As far as the kitten, nice work Nelle. I really don't understand why people can't be responsible pet owners and get the damn things fixed... If you're a breeder, that's one thing, but the casual pet owner doesn't have much of an argument in my book. Hell, the SPCA will do it for ~$10. Every spring, the shelters/rescue organizations are flooded w/ these things, and a lot of them will be killed. Very sad.

Yeah. I think the cats mother got hit by a car cuz there was a dead cat laying up the road from where I found them. The cats were either wild or came from onna the amish farms around the area.
I was thinking of taking it to the SPCA but the last time I heard, they were putting down alot of animals....so that was out. I don't see how people can put other animals down...expecially babys. That's just horrible.
