Anyone catch the series premier on FX last week? It's a TV series about soldiers in Iraq. The first episode is pretty much all action.

Notable moments:

Iraqui dude gets hit with a M203. Upper body exploded. Torso and legs took 1 stap and fell over.

US chick decides to go take a crap and got shot at with her pants down around her ankles.

I will be tuning in to catch Ep 2.

Is this fiction? I mean, did they actually catch that poor Iraqi getting shot, or was it staged?

Its a FX tv show. So that should answer your question. But they did a really good job on it. Definately going to tune in for episode 2.

They do a good job on the show, but the US military has nothing to do with it. They've publically said they want nothing to do with it.

My favorite part was the guy sending his wife a video email, then the camera pans up and she's balling some other dude. He's been gone like 3 days, how typical.

Before I decide to watch it how liberal are the producer/writers/director?

Well considering you are asking if a movie maker is liberal or not... I dunno I'm gonna go with the hollywood answer on this one.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. The last thing I want to watch is a TV show disrespecting our armed forces by misconstruing or fractionalizing facts to use to their advantage while leaving out the details they don't find politically acceptable.

But if this isn't the case let me know... Having been in the service I'm always interested in watching shows such as these.

There disrespecting the war, but they arnt disrespecting the soldiers fighting it. At least thats what I got out of it. Shows like this have to take a liberal view on war in order to succeed. The last pro-war show on TV was GIJOE. Curses Destro!

I guess you gotta just take it for what it is right... a fake ass TV show and maybe even then people that could find it offensive might like it...

i watched an episode and there is dust in ther air EVERYWHERE. anywhere the camera goes, it's a damn dust storm. there was a scene where there were two american civilians eating together in a restaurant in America and it looked like they were in some abandoned house that has so much dust hanging in the air that the light catches it and makes it like a dusty fog.
i mean sure, while it's in iraq it should be dusty, but unless the parts shot "in the US" are suposed to represent L.A., then leave the dusty fog out of the shot.
sorry, that part got to me more than it should have. :D

Oh you missed a good one Fozzy. I just watched it and unfortunately deleted off my Tivo today. Had I known you missed it, I would have dumped it off to DVD for you.

Oh well :dunno:

The little recaps at the beginning of each episode keep me up to date. And for those that haven't watched it yet, you can jump right in and know basically what's going on.

And I'm caught up now. :D Pissed off my wife, one of the shows were "supposed to watch together". Who knew :D :jerkit:

Now if I can just get her to play some games on the computer.... :wallbash:
