Whoo hoo!

I finally got a set of 5.1 surround sounds for my computer. My last few MBs have supported it, but I didn't think it was really worth it. Boy, what an idiot I was!

Hearing the choppers and jets zoom over, hearing tank treads creep by behind me....

Plus the subwoofer is twice the size of the last one :)

For those of you who haven't taken the plunge, here's how to do it:

Step 1: Get married.
Step 2: Convince your awesome wife/husband that surround sound stuff would make a great anniversary present (we're celebrating early, it's not really until August 18th).
Step 3: Plug everything in.
Step 4: Convince wife/husband that "No, it's not always this loud, I'm just testing the speakers out!".

[EDIT= Also, 200 posts! Woo hoo again!]

You have peaked my interest. Perhaps I'll make this my B-Day present this year.

I prefer alternate A. Have Creative accidently send you two sets of 5.1 speakers for no reason.

We don't have kids, and so I get my own study. Therefore it's really not TOO loud for her.

We're not really a surprise present household. Not for the big ticket stuff, anyway. There is NO WAY I'm going to spend $100 on something (or more!) and not even know if she likes it.

So, we pretty much just ask each other what we want. Best Buy had these on sale for like $50 off, so I said, "ME WANTEE!"

You could try crying a lot and see if it helps.

Okay, so if I'm understanding this correctly it was YOUR anniversay gift, you got her something else right?

I read this as it was the anniversary gift for both of you. :wallbash:

HA HA HA HA HA HA NO!

She is getting a ginormous scrapbooking organizer thingy that also acts as a traveling scrapbook...errr....tote/suitcase/workdesk thingy.

Scrapbooking is a mystery to me, so again- she picked hers out. I'd get her one that was all messed up if it were up to me.
