EA presentation at E3

Just watched the live presentation by E3 on G4 and what a major dissapointment :(

They revealed gameplay on the new Medal of Honor and it was a clone of BFBC2 it so many ways it was disgusting! Open beta testing for all versions is this thursday for all VIP BFBC2 people and then a few days after for the rest. EA just continues to show the way that they are going, down the freaking tubes with FPS. Regardless of what they say, they are not the leaders in FPS anymore, even if they acquired DICE.

Also, they announced an expansion for BFBC2 coming in the fall/winter. BFBC2:Vietnam

How many ways can you make an FPS though? Guns? Check. Melee via knife? Check. First person view point? Check. It's a formula, really. Very few FPSes have been 'innovative' lately. (Sadly enough)

Last innovative fps was bf1942 and maybe bf2. Since the nada. They all look he same and all are console ports to pc now.

Yea but it's Vietnam with destructible environments so it should have a bit more immersion. Can't see the enemy? No problem. Mow down the trees. :)

I can agree with not being groundbreaking but i think the formula in BFBC2 works. I think more players and bigger maps would be cool.

What I dont understand is how BF2 was so great in so many peoples minds. It ranks up there with BF2142, just a "meh" game, THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION, not trying to rub anyone wrong here.

But I will say that NOTHING compares to BF1942 when it was first released. The game was EPIC. I would not mind playing BF1942 or BF1942:DC again if someone would throw something together.

I liked BF2 and 2142, but yeah other than squads, nothing new. PR is fsckin cool though. :)

BF1942 DC Mod FTW...

Though I thought BF:V was kinda cool as well.

BF1942 was revolutionary, DC was a revolutionary mod! They are still awesome games that I wish we still played around here, but the player base is about as good as other games currently.

BFV was awesome in its own way. It was a good mix between cartoony graphics and quality. Some of the new features were cool too. And POE was a phenomal mod for BFV. Also one that I wish we still played around here.
