Got my first unlock yesterday. I like playing the Medic, so I opted for the unlock there. Get this, what L81A1 or whetever, and it kinka sucks. I assumed, I know, that the scope with a 5.56 Nato round in semi and full auto would be a good choice over the M16A2. WRONG! I still cannot really understand the sighting "stick". I also thought it would be more stable becasue of the bullpup style. WRONG AGAIN!

Guess I should have unlocked one of the HK's instead.

The Medic unlock is one of the best long range weapons there is. Just use semi-auto. Use full auto when in close quarters.

Are you insane?! I'd do anything to switch my sniper unlock for that medic unlock. The long range is amazing on it, I got so many kills the day it was unlocked by the account hacking. Close range, semi-auto. Bam. Long range, no auto, snipe snipe snipe dead. I love it.

You mean close range, full-auto. Semi-auto is single fire. 1 shot per trigger pull.

Medic unlock is the best sniper rifle in the game. I would LOVE to trade my PKM for it. almost to 10500 points though, I'll have it then

Oh, woops. But isn't the normal shot burst fire with 3 bullets and the second shot 1 bullet? Or im just confusing myself. :wallbash:

if you hit the key assigned to the gun once it is auto, hit it again it is single shot, the burst fire is on the basic medic gun, that too can be used as a single fire though, just hit the key assigned to it, the 3 key is the basic I believe(mine is all reconfig'd so I am not sure)

nothing ticks me off more then being out ranged by that stupid gun when i'm using any of the sniper rifles.

I'll step in for a moment-

A gun which is semi-automatic will fire one round with each pull of the trigger, but it "automatically" loads the next round. This is as opposed to a bolt-action rifle or a pump shotgun where the user must load the next round.

An automatic weapon will fire more than one round if the trigger is held down. The M-16 fires three at a time to conserve ammo but most of the other weapons in the game will simply fire until you run out of bullets.

That's why I actually LOVE the medic unlock. When you're shooting at somebody far away, switch to semi-automatic and put whatever you're shooting at riiight at the top of the needle (I'm sure it has a more technical name but I don't know it). It really is about as accurate and powerful as the MEC sniper rifle (at least!).

When you're going into a building or some close quarters street fighting, switch to full auto and use controlled bursts.

I just love this gun! My kills actually went up when I unlocked it.

This gun reminds me of the silenced one from Desert Combat that the Iraqis used. We used to whore that weapon to scores of 50+ on Lost Village. What was that weapon called?

Can't be the SVD. The one in DC was full auto. The SVD is a sniper rifle and semi-auto only.

It was the VSS. They toned it down a hell of a lot when DC Final came out. Only crappy thing about that gun was that it only held like ten bullets.

you're right VSS.
It still kicked arse after final IMO, just they took it way in most maps and crated them. That 10 round think pissed me off at 1st, but after you get use to reloading after every kill, it caused no probs, hell they gave you 7 clips. thats 7 kills before hitting ammo box

Here's the real deal with the medic gun:

It takes some getting used to and once you do, close to mid-range accuracy is awesome in full auto, just make sure to shoot in short bursts.

Long range... it's not so great - even in single shot. I was awesome on long range with the regular medic gun on single shot and I've taken out tons of people with the regular spec ops in single fire. I find long range with the l85 in single shot doesn't seem to do as much damage.

Even so, I still think the L85 is a good first unlock.

I tend to disagree groovy. I think the medic unlock is a better sniper then any of the sniper rifles. I think it is awsome and I compare it to the p90 in CSS for short range. Just spray and pray and you will get kills.

I also have to agree... It really bugs me that the accuracy is dead on 100% at long range with the medic unlock. But the sniper unlock you have to aim all over the place once its far enough.

I guess I just suck then. I'm much better with the regular medic and spec ops guns long distance then I am with the l85. :dunno:

Yeah i have the medic gun and I can pick people off so nicely. If they hit me once or twice, I can just heal, most of the time i get them before they can hit me. It is very very accurate. Whoever says it sucks, is trying to do the wrong things with it.

Just for the record, I never said it sucked. In fact, I really like it. I just don't think it's as "perfect" as everyone is making it out to be.

Its not perfect, its just "perfect" compared to the other ridiculously underpowered unlocks.

after you get used to it I think you will find it a good option for some situations. Its very accurate on full auto at mid to close range. But it doesnt have the power at long range like the m16. It does have its use though.

At long range.... against an m16, g36c, g36, pkm, any other gun. I can hit them before they kill me, it is very accurate and i just takes 3-5 shots which you can get off very fast while keeping the recoile dead on. That is how my score is affected anyway.

I've had very good luck with this L81 unlock. As medic, I can provide decent coverfire very accurately as the rest of the squad moves up. At close range, it works great. I prefer this over the standard M16. Definitely worth all the bandages and getting my ass shot up earning the points for it.

Well, I must not use it very well then. I will try it more. I almost never use any gun full auto. I have better control when in single fire mode.

Best next gun, G36C or HK G3?
