Not really a big deal, but I thought Id give you some interesting information. Were headed over to Daytona ( thats what Florida people do for travel, we just go over to the other coast :jerkit: ) Anyhow , it turns out the timeshare were using these next couple days is the exact same beach complex tht girl got her hand bitten by a shark yesterday. :eyecrazy: Now I have ALOT of shark dreams, like 1 a week. Weird huh? Ive always secretly thought for the last ten years that this is the way I was going to go out of this world. So should I get in the water this weekend? Or should I cheat destiny?

You should cheat a shark in the face with a knife.
Just my opinion :hump:

I don't like the west coast (no offense) so when we go on vacation it's usually Orlando.
Have fun!

More like a 2.25 hour drive at ~85 mph. One of these days I'll make it back to your area. I haven't been to Busch Gardens in 10 years.

I went to Busch Gardens for the first time last year. You get two free beers still, thats not too shabby. They have a crapload of rollercoasters if thats your thing. You know what, I spent alot of time trying to free ------looking at the animals. :)

Well shark attacks are not really common anywhere in the world. Florida ranks up there high if not the #1 spot in the world for shark attacks. People dont usually die, but there are limbs lost each year. Both coasts of Florida are absolutely loaded with Tiger and Bull sharks. 2 of the most vicious man hating sharks on the planet. Just a fun fact for you the next time you and your kids run out into the surf, which is, in reality a vast underwater wilderness where there are no rules.

Just some handy visible aids so you can identify your attacker in the half second you get to realize it is trying to eat you.[/img]

Just be sure to take a wepon with you into the water and you will be fine. I like muldys idea. You run faster with a knife out also so I bet you could swim faster with one. :jester:  :hehehe:

I was born and raised in Daytona, lived there for 30 years, just moved to Iowa 3 months ago.
Yes the Daytona/New Smyrna Beach area is #1 in the world for shark bites, no one has died. They are smaller sharks that hunt for mullet in the white wash(where the waves break). They simply mistake human's white flesh for white mullet scales in that murky water. If it makes you feel better there is a water park right across the street from the beach, all the fun of the water without that damn sand between your toes. :yaya:

More people are killed annually from falling coconuts than by sharks.

More people get hurt while driving to the beach than get bit in the water, but it still hairs me out to think I'm food.

I tell you what, I googles image search for "shark bite" and the first thing that popped up was too freaking gnarly to post here. If you want to get scared of shark bites and gross your self out.....yuck

Laugh and joke all you want, but remember that the picture was taken from the air. Those guys are a little bigger than they may appear and I doubt any of you would dare step into the water if you knew that swarm was out there.
