Now I was in his squad when he did this and it was lol to hear how the other team on TS didnt seem to like it much.
I have tried it a few times, but it never seems to work for me, I noticed when Canadien did it he placed the mines around the Mcon in a circle, me I just dump the mines as soon as possible in a heap and back up then lob the nade in.Only takes the thing down to 50% health.
So does it have to be all neat and tidy and in a circle to work[mine placement]?

+1 on the cheapness of this tactic. Lame-o-rama!

You have to have the extended ammo pack and have 6 land mines.
Similar tactic to the c4 on the beta.
I would say it is a lame tactic but some would say my man hopping is lame.

Yeah i tried out that mine trick one day to see if it did work in killing the M-coms, seemed to work well nice but you need 12 mines to do it and no one defending the M-coms. I like using it when the team is low on the ticket count, lame on defense point of view, but is easy to stop it.

I know its cheap, like putting C4 on the uav/quad and driving it into the mcon. But I wanted to show someone it to prove it can be done.
I wont do it as I prefer to play my games normally. But now I said I know how to do it, I kinda need/want to prove it.

Note EA for next patch - MCON should only be able to be destroyed by player pressing the activate key..
It's cheap. I don't play cheap.

With this change they would have to change the building destruction destroying the MCON.

Or just make the buildings tougher, or the m-coms immune to C4/RPGs/Tank Shells/loud farts...

I don't see how placing mines around it and nading it is a cheap tactic.
If the defenders aren't defending the objective well enough to stop someone from taking the time to lay that many mines, and then drop a nade, then the attacker deserves to blow it up.

It's hard enough as is to C4 the damn thing...takes like 12 c4 to blow up...a bit much imo but I know the suicide ATV run was bad too...

It takes a good 12-20 secs to set this up and in that time somebody should cap your ass as you are defenseless against gun fire with a mine in your hand.

It's cheap bc there's no chance to remove the mines. Plus the mines are designed to kill tanks, not to destroy MCOMs. This is right there with using armor to pound the shit out of the MCOMs.
You won't see me using this tactic. I'll be the one attacking the MCOM, enabling its timer, and defending it against being deactivated. That's fun. Not this, let's just drop a bunch of mines and then blowing it up by shooting the mines.

I see your point about the mines, but using armour to destroy the mcom? That's a part of the game and not an exploit in any way.
DICE made it that way, so there's more than one way to fry a turkey.

I'm not saying that any of these are exploits. I'm saying they're cheap tactics.
Last nite, I was on some random server. Within 30 seconds of the round start, both MCOMs were destroyed by C4's carried by dudes on ATVs. Rinse and repeat for the rest of the map. Neither the attacking team nor defending team had a chance to have any fun. Exploits? No. Cheap. Yes.
Parking your armor in the back of your base and probably in the grey zone to pound the MCOMs is also cheap, lame, and a poosy tactic. Moving your armor up while pounding the shit out of the MCOMs is fun for everyone bc at least we have a chance to attack the armor.

This is what I was talking about.
By no means do I condone people bombing the mcoms from the grey zone. Usually, though, that only happens for the first set of objectives, and then it's impossible to do so for the rest because they can be targeted like the little bitches that they are ;)

It works similar at A on the second objective. [W33T]Joker got upset with me in TS3 while I tried to advance with Armor.
"No we can pound A from the spawn point"

maybe they should have moved the mcoms underground so you cannot armour them to death or something, actually make it so you have to activate it in some way.
it is funny that it takes alot of explosives to kill it, but when the building ( which is usually a few planks of wood in the end) falls on it it is destroyed.
it would also be cool if you and a team mate could pick up the mcom and move it for a distance.
when you do get to blow up the com the right way you feel really accomplished.. i feel like i am the team nerd, and i have to set it off and all the good players can defend me while i am doing it... ( it never works i die way before then *LOL*

if they were underground, they would be MUCH easier to defend.
