Another new patch today. I am not sure what it was suppose to do someone can add that info.
I did try to sort servers using the filters. The first time I crashed to desktop which I rarely have happen. Then it worked twice in a row.

A side note I tried the fullproc change on the startup line.
NOTE do not do this if you already have heat issues.
Right click you shortcut on the desktop
change
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\BFBC2Updater.exe"
to
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2\BFBC2Updater.exe" +fullproc
I saw a noticeable increase in FPS 10-15 and a large increase in CPU usage and heat.
That is around an 8% increase in fps for me. If you are only getting low fps the increase may not be worth the extra stress on you PC
It would even max out all four cores on my Q6600 often.

interesting about the fullproc. is that an acknowledged/DICE certified tweak?

Here is the changelog I found on Steam.
Changes:
• Server browser downloads 100 entries instead of 500 in a chunk – this makes the “Cancel” button more responsive
• Fixed crash during server browser refresh
• Low-level networking library switched back to the optimized version (the game client was temporarily running with one that had more debugging logic in it)
• Localization fixes in the scoreboard
• Server browser ping handling code modified
**Patch is live on Steam BTW.

Schweet! Gonna try that fullproc too, I get decent FPS/quality on medium running DX10, but I noticed a huge jump when I OC'ed my Q6600 to 3.2...would love to see what this does for me!

Don't know but
it is very similar to the widescreen fix in BF2
I know a whole group of guys that have been using it for some time.
I didn't try it until recently because I was happy with what I had and have a crappy oem case on my current gaming pc.

I put the +fullproc and got a huge increase. As far as heating is concerned nothing out of the normal happened for me. Put it this way, before I was sitting at 20-30 FPS, after I put it on I was getting 30-50 FPS. It was way worth it.

Unless something has changed since when 'Repi' said this in during the BFBC2 Beta:

fullproc is nothing but a placebo :/
I'm going to try it anyway.

If this line tricks my computer in running the game better then frankly I don't give a damn. The proof is in the numbers and my game is running faster after I put that line in.

I hear you Fox7rot. My reply was more towards Drayu as an official response from DICE about this startup command.

I just tested it on my end and didn't notice any FPS differences before/after.

Well I game on a 1920x 10880 screen with the game set at 1280 x 720.
Before I added the line the game would always start windowed and I would have to click it to full screen. With the line being the only change It now starts full screen every time strange.
Also I run dual monitors so I can see TS3 and temp monitoring programs.
I always keep an eye on the temps because of my current crappy oem case.
In speed fan I could see the cpu usage running higher but not exactly.
But I knew it was using more cpu when I saw the temps go up. The pc is in a basement so room temp rarely changes more then 2 degrees
and I blow out the case regularly.

I put the -fullproc tag at the end of my shortcut and my game crashed two rounds in a row.
I took it off and got rid of the crashing problem.
So, it works for some, and not others.
