According to bazawhatever... (whom I knifed one nite in our Rush server).

We have just distributed a new server version named R7 to the server hosts.

Early signs from the hosts are good with 20% less load on the server CPU, improved hit detection, Veteran rank handling is fixed so you should get your M1 Garand back now plus some other fixes to better help the server hosting companies and better management of Punkbuster ID's.

From what I've read, the recent hit detection problem was due to the debugging files that DICE had the game providers install on the servers. it makes sense since the debugging code usually slow down the executables due to the extra steps needed for debugging. They are removing the debugging logic/files from the servers... I'm hoping that this will fix the hit detection issue.

sounds good ... i personaly don't care about the m1 , i would be happy to get my defi!! for the hit detection... fine... more kills Muahahaha:minigun:

Maybe now I can get back to using shotguns with the hit detection improvement.

Yeah, I used it for part of one round then put it away. Not enough ammo for close encounters and the sight isnt good enough for long distance work.

Cant wait to see how hit detection changes with this. :woot:

yes it will. all of our servers should be updated today if the provider has the patch available.

Those official BF forums (US and UK) are fucked up. The one good thing is that that Baza guy posts on there about updates and stuff.... But you gotta weed out the 99% garbage posts on there to find real info.

Seemed to be a marked improvement for the 10-15 mins. I was on. But then my psu burst into flames :( Time for a new PC I guess.

Luckily no. It wasn't that crazy really. Had to look through the grate to see where it was on fire. Bunch of smoke in my office and my house smells like burnt electronics but no damage other than to a planned night of gaming.

Baza was on our server. That's interesting.

there are a few imposters, but I friended him in game and on their forums :)

he is Bazajaytee, not Bazajayteee (who has been on our server)
