Check out these videos. This first one shows a guy on the ground jumping up and knifing a dude on the roof.

This one shows the guy jumping across a bldg and then doing a flying knife into the victim. W.T.F?

I know I've seen plenty of knifing BS. Been on both ends of it as well. I'd run around trying to knife people and heard the solid thunk of a knife connecting with nothing happening. I'd also had the moments where I try to knife someone and it seems like I've missed. However, I warp right ontop of the guy and wind up sticking it in the back of his head. :dunno:

The strangest was when I was using the knife to take down a door and wound up knifing a guy on the other side of it. Didnt damage the door though. That one goes down as my MOST BS kill so far.

Knifing dont work for me....period.
Think it might be the ping, or that was what people told me on TS anyways....I did have decent knifing skills in MW.Now it seems to be down to luck with me.

From what I've read, there's some sort of "aimbot" built into the game on the PC side for knifing. I guess you "auto-rotate" toward your victim when you initiate a knifing. The knife-rush is just like in MW2. You rush about 5-10 feet toward your victim and you're invincible during the rush animation. It's a total BS...

You do NOT auto-rotate in BC2, at least I don't. Every time I try to knife someone if they are not EXACTLY in front of me filling up my monitor, I won't get them.
I can't stand knifing, I've literally snuck up behind people, knifed, and nothing happened. Knife again, and someone on their team must see me so I get lit up by the person that I just stabbed twice who turns around and blows me away.

Your not invincible in the knife animation in BFBC2. As far as I can tell if your getting shot while trying to knife your opponent can still kill you... especially if they have that damn M60 MG.

Knifing is pretty BS, but then again, everyone has it as either an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on how well they can use it.

I find the distance you can knife someone from is fucking ridiculous, though.

Okay, I must be the only one who doesn't hate the knife mechanic. I actually like it as it gives you a way to be very effective when you are out kitted and possibly ouit gunned. Some of the most fun I've had playing is when I'm in a knife fight with aero, or when I'm the las person on a point tryinh to thin out squad ranks before they start respawning. If it is cheap I don't think it's any cheaper than in CS when the perfect angle for the alt fire knife has been memorized by all the l33t players so they'll always own you when one on one. Plus I love the dog-tag mechanic.

Anyway, just my .02.

I like knifing, its a good way to get a quick kill if you screw up on something else. But I fucking hate people that knife for ALL of their damn kills...and I gloat if I see someone try to rush me and I whack em before they get to me. :)

Don't get me wrong, I bitch about knives but I love stabbing people, especially when I flanked the entire squad and systematically stab them all in the back. Although sometimes, I get all excited about the impending dog-tags and I miss a stab only to have the guy turn around to stab me in the face. Those moments suck!!

well i have to be really close to someone to get a knife kill.....papasan got my dog tags last night i believe...i was trying to find him to get them back but he was hiding the most of the time :)

Well first of all here's a big fuck-you to all you CSS players that never bothered telling about the double secret alt knife location on one-on-one knife fights! I'm serious too! See if you get any damn secrets from me....

Next, and back on topic, on that second video, is it even possible to jump that far with out a hack?

You can't jump that far, but due to the knife-rush animation, you go the rest of the way on it. OTherwise, you'd fall down.

I can't count the number of times I've lost a one on one knife fight because I didn't spend hours perfecting the timing of a alt-fire headshot.:bs:

in cs:s if you right click the knife it is much more powerful (and slower) than the left click. :P Super secret out of the bag, now what's yours? :)

so is this the right place to complain about emptying a clip into someone at point blank then knifing them at point blank and getting killed with one shot?

i know i suck, but not that bad surely.

must get back online and play though, last week i was busy and everytime i have looked at the server it is full so i played a different game instead

half of the time, the server stat is wrong. Usually even if it's full, I try for about 10 minutes and I'll get in.

Well I wasn't really kidding. I mean I know of alt-knife (started playing CS in beta 2, and thought beta 4 was the best implementation), and obviously aim for the head, but in CS:S (and particularly in gun game) it's a whole different thing where unless you get the timing and aim perfect you miss entirely. So people will practice the animation timing and aim to a crazy extent. At least in BFBC2 and CoD4 the knife kill was a one hit kill, but also a little more forgiving with where and when you hit.
