So I need some help trying to find a new computer monitor. The problem I'm having is I like playing my old games and lot of them were designed to max out at 1280x1024. Alot of places do not sell the older monitors any longer. I've read there are some wide screen monitors that are able to switch to 4:3. Help!

So I was told from micro center and frys that if I buy a widescreen it will autospect the aspect ratio since old games werent made for widescreen or I could do this myself with my video card. If this correct?

Sometimes you can.

Like the widescreen fix for BF2 before they supported it in the last patch.

Others will just get stretched.
