default brightness settings are abnormally high. game looks best when i dumb down brightness

probably best singleplayer of all the battlefields

i think this game is awesome...hell i am running on single core machine..which sucks..and i am not gonna spend money to play on HIGH end stuff...well not until my machine breaks..(any one like to break my machine so i have excuse to build new one :lol:)

- awesome setting reminds me of BF2 more..fun playing with squad.
- can't tell much about graphics cause running on medium settings
- wish there was jet flying kind of like bf2
- hope in squad we can add more ppl..only 4 is not fun...6 should be fun!

Good: Faster than older BF games, more of a CS feel but still not as fast.
Meh(not bad just not great) : The learning curve for non-bf vets seems a little steep but it was like that in the other BF games as well.

I will definitely be putting in the time with this one when I have the chance to play this weekend.

Good use of reduced kits (I like having less kits but more options.

The usual new game jitters
The game can get to busy at times, I have a hard time picking out targets outside of armor due to too much pretty.

how do you play on single core at all?
i'm playing on 3.5 yrs old core 2 with 4 gigs of ram and settings on low and it's so choppy that i ordered new hardware yesterday. awesome if it works!!!

HAHAHAHA!!! i couldn't have said it better myself. i absolutely agree!!
i have no clue what's going on, but it's pretty, and i keep trying to figure out which uniforms i have to shoot!!!

overall i like it a lot, but after 2 hrs i got a few cons too:
where is that Q menu? i wanna say thanks when i get a med pack or a revive!!
where's commander? that made us different than the COD4 folks.
the old mini map made more sense.
the font is too small and not legible.

can't wait to play more!!!

I love the firefights. It's just madness!
It runs really well on my PC. After the Beta I really didnt think it would run so smoothly. I'll actually get to turn settings UP for once.

I honestly do not miss jets and the 'fun' that starts when people fight over them on the runway, or having 4 people waiting for the next one. Although, I get my flying fix in IL-2 so I honestly have no interest in flying with arcade physics. :dunno: I'm sure BF3 will bring em back.

I also think that having 4 people to a squad is perfect for balance. More would be nice, but it would be a real bitch to clean out a squad working on taking out a crate.

I am a little concerned about the amount of snipers. When they start to unlock the more powerful guns, it could be a REAL problem. Just my thoughts on it.

i agree with the snipers it seems like now there are simply lots of snipers and a few 'runners' good strategy ultimatly i guess long range support, but no fun.

I heard a few complaints about kife range too, which i agree on, even i managed to knife someone ( one of my 5 total kills *LOL*) and i felt i was no where near them, but i ran forward hitting the middle mouse button and praying ( well it was more a panic actually *L*)

sometimes i wonder how people manage to hit you from half a map away when you are behind albeit flimsy coverage, butthats life i guess *L*

it was calming enough to be able to constantly run into battle die and do it all again, i am not sure why though. it ran fine on my laptop, windowed too though my beer got warm because it was by the vent *L*

Oop. I meant to comment on that. Look for the beret. If there's red on their head, they're better off dead. Haha! At least if you are on the US side. Us guys have helmets and the Russian troops usually have the red beret.

I can log in and see friends list and such, but no servers. I tried turning off the firewall and reinstalling PB. It seems a few people are having this problem.

Pro: a very sensory exciting game.
WiH is active in one main game again and the teamwork is top notch as always.

Con: way to much chaotic run and gun with very little tactic being used by most squads and or players (pubbers). It seems a lot of people don't understand the point of their class and therefore just run by you when you need ammo, med, or vehicle repair (again pubbers). I had to cry about it in TS to get help because I was stuck in a squad alone (from other WiH members) to get what I needed. Thanks to those that came to my rescue last night and joined my squad.

when you die as often as i do you seem to find alot of time running to an objective, only to find it has been completed, and have to run further, then die (again)

not all vehicles are around to get going ( some are but none that i would try to pilot *L*)

It runs pretty damn well with the exception of some annoying bugs. They've done some huge advancements with sound in this game and I just run a 2.0 system with my Z-10 speakers. The snow blind and sun blind on some of the maps can get a little annoying but it makes the battles of the big open maps different so people aren't sitting on their spawns sniping 500 meters away not helping the team. Everything they've done from BF2 forward has been to REWARD points to people who teamplay in a squad PERIOD. Theres rewards for points for doing things like getting kill streaks 6 and 8 people in a row. Theres rewards for "spotting" enemies, helping kill enemies mostly and partly, resupplying, repairing, healing, using sensors to spot people, taking points, blowing up points, killing multiple people at a time.

Did I mention you can BLOW BUILDINGS UP? Single handedly if they did nothing else to improve on the Battlefield franchise buildings being able to be blown up is fucking awesome. I don't use the f-bomb in posting on the forums usually but it's appropriate in this case. By the end of a hard fought map most of the buildings are pretty well blown to shit if not crumbled ontop of themselves. Finding cover is basically hiding behind different debris piles and really it "feels" like you look around and say wtf happened here... Oh thats right I happened with my *insert C4, tank shell, RPG, Bradley, grenade, mortar strike*. Gameplay is not run and gun it's shoot and move. Covering fire is important and the sound system makes that happen. If someone usually is shooting you first it's rare that you will be able to turn around and shoot them to kill them first. The same for someone you are usually shooting. When you're getting shot you get recoil on your scope and makes things hard to aim. Same thing for when mortar strikes are around. Mortar strikes are good even if they don't kill enemies because it makes them unable to aim and see.

If anything I think the gameplay of BF has always improved from BF2 to 2142 and now to BFBC2. Try to think about the things you Didn't like in BF2 as well it shouldn't be too hard. How about having a shitty commander on your team? That sucks. How about getting raped by some really good pilot in a bomber for an entire map and not being able to do anything about it? That sucked. How about getting raped by a good helicopter pilot who flies in circles for the entire map and never can get shot down? That sucked too. The series has moved away from the rediculous parts of BF2 where 2 people can take out an entire team, and that is simply gone. Teamwork is now in and invincible bullshit is gone.

As far as the server files being released I'm all for it currently being kept under lock and key. If it helps to keep the games rankings and everything legit for the first couple months while we play and then they release it later I'm all for that.

After playing last night, I see many of your points Ruci. However, there are definitely some things that bug the hell out of me. I'd say, 80% of the time, I have no idea how people can hit me like they do. I'll be laying into them with PKM at close range, they hop twice, shoot twice, and I'm gone. Then there's the people with a PKM that can get me from across the map.

And what the heck is the point of having medic, engineer, and supply kits when you can't even use them until hours of play (and kills if you can get them!!) FFS....

Whatever, I'm an adrenaline junky. I'll go play now.
