here is the answer: As Battlefield Bad Company 2 comes out next week, I'll tell you about the Day 1 map pack that is available to all players who purchase the game and apply their VIP code which comes with the game at no extra charge. The map pack contains two new maps which are the Rush map, Nelson Bay and the Conquest map, Laguna Alta which you can check out in the video now. The maps will be available from March 2nd which will allow the lucky North America players to get access and practice while us Europeans wait a few days more

Since updates are directly through the client it may just download it.

I wonder how that works. Steam has the Steam Client running all the time to grab the updates. What does BC2 have running?

When you log in it checks for updates thats how all the client updates for beta were processed.

well i am pretty sure it will be awailable for pc too (from day one) other wise the name day 1 map pack doesn't make any sence!!

For the beta I had to run that update.exe program manually for some reason...

Anyways, let's hope it'll be available on Day 1.

I dont see anywhere in the article that says this map pack update is just for consoles. The PC version will be updated with the map pack as soon as you put in your VIP.

are you using win7?? i had a problem like that, while running it not as administrator
btw i hope you didn't get my first post wrong... i just posted that because for me it sounds like it will awailable for pc from day one too!!
