With great sadness, we are here to announce that the WiH Demo server is now offline for good. It's been up and stable ever since 6/10 when the demo came out. It's also been packed at 64 players 24/7. It climbed the game-monitor.com server ranking all the way up to #7. Given enough time, it would have gotten to #1.
We are shutting it down bc of 2 factors: Bandwidth and Money. We are out of bandwidth. On our dedicated box that we had the server running on, we get 2000GB of bandwidth per month. This demo server + VOIP was going to eat up 2500+GB per month. At $.50/GB overage ($250 extra per month), that's out of our league. The operating cost of the high-end dedicated server box that we were using for the Demo server is being re-allocated to the Ranked Server.
For those of you who are reading this that played on the Demo server. We thank you for making it your home for the BF2 Demo. Please come back and visit our War is Hell Ranked #1 server when you get the BF2 Retail game.
