THis is what I was talking about last night for anyone that was listening.

This is a cool feature DICE has implemented for taking out Tanks. But as it is now it seems to be quite too easy for an Engineer to handle this. Tracer dart don't fly (or almost don't) a ballistic curve. So you could shoot the dart all across the map for a direct hit. Sure the Dart takes time to travel, but Tanks are slow an clumsy and often stand still if they shoot.

But the big thing is, if a Tank is marked, it is a no-brainer to lock on him and to take it out with 3 rockets. You dont even have to be in a line of sight with the Tank it even works behind cover/walls/etc. . Just lock on the Tank and aim into the sky, there is a 90% chance you will hit the Tank.

The Tracer-Dart will stick on the vehicle for 60seconds and there is almost nothing a Driver could do against it. Even driving behind a wall won't prevent him, because the RPGs rain down the sky.

So i would welcome that Tankdrivers will be given an option to counterpart a Tracer-Dart. This could reached by giving him the possibility of removing the Tracer-Dart with his Repair-Tool. But this has to take quite long not to make the Tracer-Darts useless - OR - by reducing the time the Dart stuck on the vehicles (~30sec.) - OR - the Egnineer need to be in line of sight with the Tank to be able to lock on.

Driving a tank aka "rocket-magnet" at the moment is already a pain in the A** http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/images/smilies/ed515dbff23a0ee3241dcc0a601c9ed6.gif since they got nerved down back in the PS3-Beta/Demo and with the so-slow turret speed it is really hard for the driving community to survive several minutes.

Tanks have to cope with some much struggle; Stationary AT, Mines, Tracer-Darts, RPGs, C4-Terrorists, Helicopters, and enemy Tanks

I find this laughable. I have been painted several times, but that has I have only died due to direct fire after the fact once. I got in a Bradley for several game rounds and demolished the enemy (ask Filthy :) ) The main problem that I have seen with 'rocket magnets' is peoples in ability to understand the game and use the armour in an effective manner. I do agree though that the tracer dart does need to have a fall off arc and a range. The idea that a slow moving dart has no drop off is insipid.
