How the hell are you guys running it so well??

Nvidia is the way to go, maybe

Specs:

P5Q
Dual core E8500 3.2 ghz
Radeon HD 4870 512
4 gigs 800mhz DDR2

I run at 1680x1050, mostly medium settings @ 30fps average.

On high it's a stutter-fest.

Maybe cause I only have a dual core??

HT Claro-Plus
Yamaha RX-V2700 Receiver
Orb Audio 5.1 speakers
Saitek X-52
Logitec G-15
FANG FPS pad
Logitec G5 mouse

All settings on high except shadows (medium), 1920x1200, AF/AA 1x, HiFi audio (won't let me change to Home Theater for some reason, doesn't keep the setting when set).

Runs pretty darned smoothly, but I listed my audio and control settings for a few comments. The PCM out on my soundcard is definitely sub-par on this game. Doing the DTS or Dolby-Digital 5.1 convert works well, but the game audio is very low, you have to really pump up the sound to get the effects right. They sound awesome at high volume, but as soon as someone chimes in on TS and blows out your ear-drums it isn't so great.

My FPS gamepad works great, however I've run into some control issues with the mouse showing a little bit of lag, not sure if it's the hardware, software, or intentional on dice's part. I'm still fiddling with sensitivity on that. The X-52 is NOT working, much to my frustration (not that I've gotten into the chopper much anyway). This is a simple control issue that should have been resolved a decade ago.

Lastly, I'm having trouble with the friends setup, but I hear that's pretty universal. I keep losing my friends list and having to try to re-add people.

Hi guys,
Could you please get Fraps
http://www.fraps.com/download.php
Please look at the fps you are getting WITH people in Server, IN the town and with battle going on.. and let us know what numbers you are seeing max, min, and average.
Saying "it runs smooth" is just not helpful enough here please. 20-30 fps is smooth for some people while for others like me, it is completely intolerable for serious FPS gameplay..

Thanks..

Here is me..

Asus P5B Deluxe
Core 2 Duo 2.8ghz
2gig Corsair
raptor 150gb
Nvidia 260gtx core16
XFi Fatality Platinum\
WindowsXP

In game, in battles..
my FPS is holding steady at about 25-30 fps..
It can spike up to 45 when around no action looking at a tree.
Lowest it goes is around 15 fps momentary when action gets really thick.

[QUOTE='[MSC]Sniper-X;319681']Hi guys,

Saying "it runs smooth" is just not helpful enough here please.

How so? Not sure that it matters one way or the other as you obviously know how it runs on your own equipment >.>

Anywho, getting around 35 on average. Really intense fights it drops to 20-25ish. Honestly, that's better than I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a slide show on my rig. While it's certainly not an ideal frame rate to play with, it's definitely playable and doesn't cause me any problems being competitive.

Runs like ass on my PC. Average FPS is around 17-20 dropping to about 10 in close quarters fighting. Tried to turn everything down but it didnt help much. Going to try to update the drivers and turn the physx thing back on. Not sure if the physx thing will help or not. I turned it off trying to get Armed Assault 2 demo running smoothly.

I know my PC hasnt been 'well' the last few weeks but my framerate seems to be well below the average. :( Not much fun getting knifed while the game becomes a slide show.

I'm not surprised he's not having issues. He's got an E8400 Core 2 Duo (a dual core 3.00 CPU) + an 8800GT card.

My current set up is an E6600 (2.4Ghz) + X1900XT card. I'm at least 2 steps below him with the CPU and about 1-2 steps behind in the video card. I can play mine at 1280x1024 at Low details. It's completely playable, but just a little "slow" for my preference.

So I think his rig shouldn't have any big issues running the game well at Low/Med details.

looks like your cpu is the major bottleneck Fozzy :(

Won't help increasing your memory either as XP is only capable of handling up to 3 gigs. You would need to go to Vista or Win7 and then get more memory from there.

BUT, if the memory is ddr2 1066/800 you could get away with upgrading to a cheap Vista (I know someone selling one :) ) and add a ton of memory to see if that helps.

While at "work" today I will see what kind of cheap BFBC2 computer I can put together not just for you, but for anyone.

2 gig RAM
GeForce 8800 GTS 512
XP Pro
Raptor 75 gig HD <-----Way to small.....LOL
Running the game on 1024x768 resolution but everything is maxed as far as game video settings.
I have no real issues playing most times and usually I'm not the only one feeling it when I do.
I do think I need to try and adjust the gamma setting some if there is one because the game is just to bright sometimes.

I knew eventually the day would come where I couldn't run a game at max capacity so now I must think about if I want to build another. Not likely if I can play out this game first.

** Updated my vid drivers last night and now running full tilt with no more lag then anyone else feels.

I'm surprised you get such good results with your specs. Interesting that you only have 2gig of ram too considering 6gig is the min on a new system these days. It might be bc the last update was optimized for dual cores though.

The patch didn't seem to really change much for me that I noticed. I did consider turning down the resolution some because the mortar strikes seemed to tax me out some but I'm still not sure it's not the server itself, need more play time to evaluate that.

Not sure about the chip socket anymore, 939 pin maybe. To be fair I built a gaming computer and never added on any of the more useless junk like printer crap, extra USB's, and the what not so I'm not diverting any unnecessary power for stuff I don't use.

Here's a tip for anyone that is having framerate issues. I'm currently running my game on a laptop.

Specs:
Win-7 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @ 2.26 and 2.27
4GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GS OCed {Stock 400/800/400} to {OCed 600/1200/490}

Now the hint for me to get amazing framerates. In in your "My Documents" folder there is a "BFBC2" folder. Open that up and inside you should find a .ini file called "settings.ini". Open that bad boy up with notepad and start adjusting your settings to the object.

[WindowSettings]
Width=1280
Height=720
Fullscreen=true (False would make it Windowed)
RefreshRate=59.901001
VSync=false
[Sound]
Quality=high
VoipEnable=true
SpeakerCount=0 (In the speakercount tread that Drayu made this is where you would edit it)
[Graphics]
Effects=medium (The explosions in the game.)
Soldiers=high (The details in the solders.)
Vehicles=high (The details in the vehicles)
Overgrowth=low (This is where you are going to get a hit in your FPS, This is the tress overhanging the ground. IT is actually to your advantage to have this on low. With low some of the tress are not visible making you able to see right through the leaves)
Undergrowth=low (Grass and bushes in the game)
StaticObjects=high (I'm going to guess the debris on the ground like rocks and cans)
Terrain=high (The ground)
Shadows=low (Putting this low will improve FPS GREATLY)
Bloom=false (Makes things look shiny!! Set it to true if you want to be blinded by the rays of sunshine)
HSAO=false (This is only for DX11 cards. If you don't have one do not put this on because it will rape your FPS, and not the good kind of rape either.)
MSAA=0 (Anti-aliasing)
Water=low (Another big FPS hitter. There isn't much water in the game or that is we aren't looking at the water and thinking "This sure looks like a nice spot to go skinny dipping" so if you have FPS issues turn this on low, the water looks like the water in BF2.)
MainQuality=custom (No idea what this does so I left it alone)
Texture=high (How detailed the buildings and walls look, this isn't a hitter in FPS)
DxVersion=auto
Aniso=0 (Anisotrophic filtering)
Detail=medium (Detail in what I do not know so I put in on medium just in case)
RenderAheadLimit=3 (I just put in on three, I know what it is per-say but if someone would like to field this option be my very guest)
Fov=55 (Filed of View; they stated that they increased the crap out of the FOV so play around with this if you want. I'm too lazy to bother)

So there you have it folks; the specs of my laptop and my settings in-game to the very object. (Side-note* I never ran FRAPS while playing simple because I just forgot so my FPS are not shown here. The game however runs very well and the only time when there is a dip in FPS would be when I'm being attacked by a Bradley and that cannon is just hitting the ground creating a long line of dust clouds. I will post my FPS when I get around to putting on FRAPS)

All it needs is fans and room.

It is also like the difference of Playboy and Penthouse.

I like to see what's inside. :spank:

Make sure your have enough power for two on that 750 watt PSU.
You probably do but checking it first is a good idea.

The 750 watter is just fine.
Crossfire is sweet pulling 70+ fps and going eyefinity in another month with the addition of 2 more monitors.

I will be able to see a lot more area.

Just saw this thread...so here we go:

Before my mini-update:
AMD 64 X2 4200+ (AM2, 2.2GHz, 512x2 L2cache)
ASUS M2N-VM DVI
6GB Ram dual channel (only 3 GB used due to XP)
XP 32bit
Nvidia XFX 8800GT 512MB
XFi extreme gamer
7200RPM HDD

It ran fine with no visible issue at medium (1280x1024), fps not sure.

After mini-update:
AMD 64 X2 6000+ (AM2, 3.0 GHz, 1Mx2 L2cache)
ASUS M2N-VM DVI
6GB Ram dual channel
Win7 64bit
Nvidia XFX 8800GT 512MB
XFi extreme gamer
(2) 7200RPM HDD Raid1

Ran like shit, froze up every 5-10 sec for a few sec. come to find out the 6000+ CPU runs at 125W which the motherboard's voltage regulator don't like, too much heat. I added a spot fan cooling the voltage regulators and that seems to help. I can play the game with no visible issues at med (1280x1024) [fps???]. But I'm afraid when the temps kick up in the summer, I won't be playing much. I'm think about going back to the 4200+ chip or seeing if newegg will exchange the chip for a 5600+ (65W).

And your right Newegg was one source, but when the XFX 5970 Black's First came out Newegg would only sell one to a customer so I had to buy from other retailer's also. And I'm installing an Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1 sound card to replace the original sound card I'll be sure to update the pic LOL
