Some people are already reporting issues with their Crossfire video setup. Others are reporting laggy servers all over the place...

If you encounter a problem, post here with a solution if there is one to fix it.

My beta issue is that I haven't got my goddam key yet. Even after I emailed GameStop when they told me to if I didn't receive a key.

I'm having graphics issues where I get some crazy ass colors that pop in where there should be terrain. I'm sure I just have to update my video drives because I haven't done that in a while.

Seems like theres a crash to desktop when you browse server or refresh. Dice says to just hit the play Now Button.

I signed up for a key, don't know if I will buy into this game or not, I liked the first one but didn't really love it. Not to mention I have a lot of stuff for school and work to do. Too many games out this 1/4, gotta kinda pick and choose.

I downloaded the client again from somewhere else and I still get this error when running setup:

"The VC8 runtime redistributable package was not install successfully. Setup cannot continue."

I keep a baseball bat pretty close to my PC. I'm tempted to use it :P

the VC8 redist package is a VS2005 run time package. Are you on XP or Vista? You can also try downloading the Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package from MS and install it separately first.

I've had the server browser crash and it took me a few tries with Play it Now. I had the game decide to minimize on it's own once. When the game came back up some of the textures were off. Explosions were all a funky black color. :dunno:

Already have all that garbage installed.

Strangely, if I delete the "redistributable" folder out of "BFBC2_PC_ClosedBeta_RC1_511270_Client" it gives me the error right away instead of after installing C++ 2005.
This is pissing me the fuck off.

I have Windows 7. Makes me want to switch back to XP.


So far, sounds like this beta is a piece of trash, judging from all the problems. I mean, crashes when you enter the server browser? Give me a break.

Obviously delayed because they have no idea how to code for PC anymore, not because of user feedback.

They should have delayed it till March and delayed the game release at this rate.

Filthy, I just did a security update for C++ and its working fine for me, check your Win7 update options and update everything.

Currently, the only problem I'm having is already known: the ctd from the server browser. Other than that, I haven't had any problems. Well, except that I can't fly worth shit. =P

Sort of a work-around for the server browser CTD. after you've played on some servers, click on the Server pull-out tab on the right. In the history, there should be a listing of all the servers you've played on or that your client tried to join. Refresh and select one with room.

I got mine to work Drayu. What pisses me off is my Joystick wont configure for the throttle or for my hat view point buttons. I could honestly care less about the hat but my throttle better end up in the final version.

Win7/Core i7-920/GTX275 ran with initial video artifacts and not playable.
I updated my video driver and it ran decent and playable at High setting.

Matches keep going and no way to exit the multiplayer. Had to end session with Task Mgr.

After more then a few CTDs, it cleaned out my friends list. Bad Beta luck for me this evening. Ran the game itself fairly well. No major FPS issues. Lots of lag because auto play kept putting me in servers located in the UK.

I don't know if it was ping lag or video.
Then went to video settings went up to 1920x1080x60Mhz
still lag so went video setting res same but low then advanced and aa and filter at x1.
Lowest setting except my res and no more lag.

Stock Q6600 3 gig ram 9800gt nothing OCed on this PC it is a G33 gateway motherboard.
500 gig HD and digiatl tv tuner got it for a song used at $305 plus $100 for the new video card.

I have a GT 220 and I am on 1024 x 760 .....minimum setting ouch.....beta just told me i need to cross fire these:

I have having most of the issues like everyone else, the only exception I see is; I map all my keys to my G-13 Keypad and my logitech joystick and everytime I do this the game points my mouse STRAIGHT down, the only way for me to fix it is to redo all my keys to default restart my comp. Anyone else having this issue?

IS your throttle on for your joystick and not in the middle position?

if so, that is waht it is.

Delete all the unnecessary button assignments by clicking on them and then hitting delete.

Those 5770's are very popular and actually out preformed a single 5870
either that or it was 2x5750 vs 1x5850

Anywho the beta is having issues with crossfire hopefully/probably get fixed
but I have never jumped on the sli/crossfire band wagon.
I go with single biggest card i can afford at the time of purchase.

Only issues are friends list (just keep trying, eventually seems to work), and joystick not mapping. I have a feeling the latter is simply because I have other game controllers installed so it isn't looking hard enough to find the joystick. The few moments I did spend in the helicopter were awesome.

Video is generally silky smooth (excluding lag), but I'm running on a GTX-285, QX6800, and 8GB ram, so I have a bit of overhead. Only having one map is a bit of a pain.

Definitely gonna be playing a lot of this. Gold squad twice in a row :).

Minimal issues here. The standard CTD when hitting the server browser, and the friends list being a bit dodgy, but otherwise LOADS of fun. Drayu, Hellcat, KillerDraft, Nsane, and myself rocked out several maps in a row. The squad mechanics or VASTLY improved over BF2. Kits are very customizable once you start getting unlocks. Bit of lag, but I think mainly due to getting placed in the UK, Austrailia, ect.

As far as performance, my systems getting a bit dated but it plays it just fine.
Current rig is a C2Duo E6400, 8800GTS 640MB, 3GB of Ram. All bone stock core speeds atm. I run at 1920x1200 settings on Low. Still looks fanatastic and I get decent frame rates. Not so bad I don't think for the equipment I'm running it on.

Had an absolute blast playing! IMO, if Dice gets their stuff together and gets the known bugs squashed we could be in for a long over due kick ass title to rally around!

i had no real problems, turned AA off because it bugs me having it on(and it seemed to reduce lag a little on high ping servers) but other then the usual bugs, no problems.

I am running a 9800GTX+ and 6gig DDR3 Ram on max settings with little to no framerate issues, most of my lag issues are steming from the server locations.

I heard the server browser crash is gone...

Also heard that for the Friends List to work, you have to login via the Multiplayer Gadgets screen. No clue if this is true or someone talking out of their ass (TOOTA)...

Also also heard if you have a DX10 capable video card, set your video settings in the game for DX9 instead. It'll run better.

Anyone else using a 5.1 headset in this? I have been having some quirks with mine. The sound location seems to be off. I'll be running but the sounds of my own footsteps seem to be behind me (So I think I'm being tailed). I spin around a few times to make sure then carry on. A few minutes later, I'll wind up doing the same thing.

Anyone have this happen to them? Yes I'm sure everything is plugged in correctly. However, I know my sound card drivers have been giving me some issues. I'm not 100% sure if its the Beta or my drivers. :dunno:

No, changing FROM DX10 to DX9 made the game run slower.. it seemed, at least.

I don't have FRAPS but I'm pretty damn sure it was slower.
