Thankfully I think those are way away from being realized. I'm not a fan of the word "pervasive," especially when in the context of spying on people. Hello, Big Brother. And beetles aren't exactly invisible and lot's of people, where I would think "cool a weird beetle" and investigate it when I saw it flying around, would think "holy crap it's an insect, squash it!!!" What's more is it might be the only military machine you can destroy with a fly swatter.
Damn this brave new world of ours...drug sniffing wasps, MAVs...count me out. hell, I think those IR bathroom flushing sensors behind the black plastic are suspect enough. They're like the perfect smoke screen for pervs to hide a motion activated camera.

It's going to happen either way eventually. It's to important to be able to gather info to ignore the technology. Human spies are to hard to come by these days. Besides why risk their lives if it can be avoided.
