Which one was, in your opinion, better:

Dawn of the Dead 2004
Land of the Dead 2005

Just curious, because I love zombie flicks, and IMO Dawn of the Dead was really good. How does Land of the Dead compare? Just curious.

Well considering Dawn of the Dead was a mere remake and Land of the Dead was a brand new movie can you really compare?

Originals..
Day of the dead
night of the living dead
dawn of the dead..

remakes...
dawn of the dead

new movies..
land of the dead

I dont like the new movie for the mere fact of zombies shooting at you.

Zombies dont pull triggers. They pull limbs.

Clearly you've never been to a video arcade. What was that old zombie game? House of the Dead or something. There was a mansion level and a carnival level..zombies had butcher knives and what not..zombie clowns..good arcade game. It was one of those gun ones you stood back from the green and shot the zombies with it like Area 51.

Well, I'm a huuuuuge zombie movie fan. Mother Goose and I have even worked out where we'll meet up when the zombies attack (notice it's "when" and not "if").

2004 Dawn of the Dead = my favorite zombie movie ever. I like it better than all three of Romero's original flicks (of those, Dawn of the Dead was easily my favorite).

DotD (2004) was simply awesome. It had action, action, action- zombies being shot, stabbed, crushed, burned, exploded, impaled, etc. The gore was EVERYwhere but it made sense within the context of the violence.

LotD simply wasn't as good. The acting was weak, the characters flat and stupid, and the zombies shooting = IDIOTIC. SPOILER- when one zombie is smarter than the others and organizes them into what I call the Zombie Teamster Union, it gets absolutely stupid. My other problem was with the gore- it's too much just for the sake of too much. It's not gore within the context of a desperate fight to live- it's just really long shots of zombies (literally) shoving their arms down people's throats and coming out with huge handfuls of goo, like carving a pumpkin.

That said, LotD is definitely worth seeing, especially since it's in the discount theatres right now- IF and ONLY if you're a zombie movie fan. It's still zombies, man.

Good to know it's still worth seeing, as I do love zombie flicks. Will go see sometime! Zombies shooting guns... weak.

I too loved DotD. That was probably the best zombie move ever thus far, except only wish they had added more character background. Not too much plot building to the point of being boring, but like you see the chick and her husband, and have to use your imagination about the other survivors, woulda been cool to see the core people like the Shotgun Wielding Cop, Scary Russian Chick with black husband, and the good leader dude.

Yea, just my 2 cents. Loved the ending, I think most people probably didn't like it, but it's true in what would happen.

LotD... DotD sucks... I don't like zombies running around and crap... takes any sort of suspense the zombies usually give and ruins it completely.

Not to mention the horrible storyline (they changed some stuff... too much stuff for the worse) and horrible cast and horrible acting.

So yeah... Land of the Dead for me.

I agree- Shaun of the Dead is awesome. Mother Goose and I thought we would die laughing right there in the theatre.

Shaun of the Dead was GREAT!!

Loved the original DotD. My absolute favorite part is at the end when they flew over the red necks and they are down there having a BBQ, drinking beer, and have a Turkey (zombie) shoot.

New DotD was good too. liked the guy across the street when they would name a celebrity look-a-like and he would shoot him/her.. :LolLolLolLol:

Dawn of the dead had no plot. One second they wake up and look out the window and there is abslute chaos out there. They never say how they got there. Never seen anyof there other ones you talk about but,

Resident evil was the best zombie movie ever. The second was great also and I cant wait for the 3rd.

Well, that's the thing. DotD left the plot in your hands, later in the show you hear a black guy on the tv talking about god, and how there is no more room left in hell, the dead walk the earth. Yea, you can believe that, or just think he's a typical religonist, and make up your own theory. Like from when the bar patient got bit on the hand.

Resident Evil makes a better video game than movie. First was "ok" second SUCKED. I think Resident evil is better classified as a "monster flick" as nemesis was not really a zombie.

Shaun of the Dead was funny. Good movie. Still, i'm waiting for RE5 for the PS3, Pills sent me a short vid caption, and it looked awesome. IMO, PS3 is a much better system to release a RE game on than the GameCube, because the GC just sucks.

28 Days Later wasn't so much a zombie movie as a movie about an awful disease caused by monkies.

I'm gonna be completely honest here, I don't care for Zombie flicks. Never have, probably never will. But I do love the zombie games. Keep those churning. Looking forward to busting up zom's in the desert.
