Okay, so you read the title.
I am looking to buy a Wii as my wife really loved it. She wants the whole balance board setup. What do I need, what is a must, where should I get it?

dell and amazon came out with a deal when the unit first dropped to $199 retail price
maybe around black friday you'll see the unit selling for $150 again
think the wii board is around $80 retail

I would get Mario Galaxy, Mario Cart Wii, Boom Blox is also pretty fun for multiplayer. I'll have to think about what other ones I've played or have that are fun.

New mario game comming the 15th of this month looks good. Four player co-op side scroller. If you die eight times in a level a game guide will pop and offer to show you how to go through the level.
Well we got our wii because my wife wanted to play guitar hero. We also have the wii play and a mario party with 4 controllers. It is an easy way to entertain guests and since most of her friends are chinese or taiwanese they actually play it more than the american counterparts, but anytime you have kids involved it's easier to plop 4 of them infront of a Wii than oh I don't know having them running around screaming.
So I would say a basic overall package would be this.
Wii Play,
4 controllers,
Wii fit (b/c you said your wife wanted it and if she wants it then obviously it's essential)
I Actually got my Wii off craigslist. I mean shit it's a wii if it turns on and everything works just fine whats the difference between a used one and a new one besides the price and having to delete some other person's profile?

Any of you guys got the new Wii sensor thing that attaches the controller?
There are just way too many plastic controller shape thingy guitar steering wheel baseball bat tennis racket thingies for the Wii. I haven't bought really any past the two controllers and nunchucks because it's simply too much money to get it all.

The Wii Motion Plus, Crotch? A buddy of mine has it, and we played Virtua Tennis or something to that effect, and I couldn't really tell the difference from playing it without, but maybe thats just me. Other people swear by it.

Yeah that's it. I heard that the game has to support it. I was thinking about getting the Wii Resort Games or something like that. $60 gets you the game, and 2 Motion Plus (which are $20 each if you buy individually).

I have the Wii Sports Resort and I love it. The bowling is much better with the motion plus than it was on the Wii sports. It responds better to wrist twists to get the hook in the ball.
