Its not for me, I am PC all the way, the game pads mess
with my arthritis. For my 13 adhd son. He just got a PS2 slim last
xmas with 14 games for $80 LOL. It was GameCube before that.

But we went to WallyWorld today and they had the xbox 360 "arcade" $199+$100 gift card +.07 sales tax and 19.88 for a two year service plan.
Total $234.20.

So where do I go from here if I don't return it.
No hard drive.
Will probably pick up a 2nd controller (wired $25)
Halo 3 $40
Halo OST ?? $60

Note: I don't have a big screen tv yet and the ps2/gamecube play on a 19' crt with PC speakers.
I have the $100 gift card to spend on a controller/games.

Need some advice from you console freaks ummm I mean experts.

Remember I am old and cheap.

I figured someone would chime in...

If you already bought this, you need to get a hard drive if you're going to play any sort of games with it. If you're going to go on Live, you need to subscribe to the yearly Gold membership, which you can buy on Amazon for $40 (I just bought one to renew my membership yesterday). Get Halo ODST bc it's the latest of the Halo series. But only get it if you are not a PC-FPS-fanboy.

What else do you need to know?

PS. wirely controllers rock! Get a rechargeable battery or 2, and a recharging station from MS. They're worth the money when you're in the middle of killing that last boss on your last life and then your controller runs out of battery...

Thanks for answering.

I am a PC FPS fan man but this is for my 13 year old son.
He is thinking he wants Brutal Legend for his first 360 game.

So I need to get
Rechargeable station
Hard Drive
Gold Live
A second controller for when he wants to own me.
Do I need a second Gold live just to be ownt by my son on 2 player games?

edit: I am a PC guy. Is there even 2 player games without going online?

Out of the box, I think you get Silver Live membership. That allows you to get game updates, buy shows/movies, etc... online. You need Gold Membership if you want to play games online with other people. But if you're not going to go online, you don't need Gold Membership.

Some games have multiplayer split-screen/same-screen. Other than something like StreetFighter IV, I don't know of the other ones bc I normally don't utilize local MP features. You don't need to have a Live Membership to play, I don't think. You do need to create a local profile for yourself to play some games though.

Brutal Legend is supposed to be funny and good game. You can pick up some of the older hit games for like $20 usually. I'd would have said to get ODST but I'm returning mine to GameFly this weekend. Other than that, I'll play playing Forza 3 and MW2 on my 360 probably for the next month or 2.
