I just got kicked from the server because some retard kept running over my landmines and then punishes me for it. Why do I get punished because they are morons. That so makes me not want to play Engineer anymore. I still love the server just not some of the dipshits quick to punish for thier mistakes. I get TK'd alot and hardly ever punish. :wallbash:

Good luck dude. Mines are a bane on the planet, and a bane in the game. I am almost exclusive engineer and I hardly ever waste the time to set one. I use it more like C4. If you are close to a vehicle that looks like it might back up directly, then toss one and watch him die, but if you leave it laying you will get punished to no end. Too many nubes that have no clue, too many idiots that just want to punish.

I was moving up a hill in my tank tonight, and a buggy tops the hill and hit me head on a blows up. I get a punish. I call him a putz and he talks smack back at me. No regret, no "sorry I pushed the wrong button". Some people's kids just ain't raised right and have no respect for anything except themselves, or a sense of humor. And this guy has posted here like he's all in with the good guy atmosphere we have. Well, it doesn't take many issues like this to show me what a character's real character is.

Like I said "jokingly", he's a putz. But for real now not just for fun.

He's reading so I think so he can just suck my shorts and go away as far as I'm concerned.

My point being, this is a community. A community is friends. Stupid things happens in battle, like accidental TK's, and you can't just punish everyone for every thing. I didn't shoot his arse, I was just driving and next thing I know he is in the window blowing up under my treads.... The last thing I expected was a punish from that incident.

That kind of punish, whether a regular community guy or not, is uncalled for. Not illegal, BUT YOU FREAKIN SUXK FOR THAT!!!! Pull your head out of your butt and quit crashing into tanks.

You putz. :jerkit:

yeah... they should disable punishing for mine tk's. I was playing on this "gamecenter" server hosted by gamespot tonight... and we had a really awesome blackhawk squad going. We were totally pwning the other team with it :D.. I was an engineer, sitting in the back healing it, and dropping mines around the flags, when all of a sudden I'm booted out of the game, and get a message stating that I was kicked/banned for TK'ing. WTF is that BS? Seriously.. some people need to look where the hell they're driving, and look around for mines when they see the big ass red skull staring them in the face. It really pissed me off, because now I'm apparently banned from the server for helping my team.

Yesturday I was sitting in the pilot seat of the BH on the pad waiting for my squad to get in, someone drove into the helo (which was sitting perfectly still) on the helo pad with a car and died. I got the TK and he punished me. :upyours:

later I was flying the BH and a red guy flew into us. He got the kill for me, but I got teamkills for everyone in the Helo and I instantly lost 20 points because some MEC guy can't fly worth a shit

LOL Dinky, it wasnt me but if the timings right I will intentionally crash into a chopper if I see "Dinky +5" as my target ID :).

I don't care if someone flys into me or shoots me down, I just think it is crap that I get 5 tk's for it. Seems like if I am in a Helo, anything that dies with in 100 meters of me is my TK.

In helos I have gotten TKs from:

having a full helo and trying to take off while some guy runs up and trys to jump in.

Other people flying into me, friendly or not.

I had a guy in an empty BH and ontop of my FULL BH and kill us all, of course I got 6 TKs out of that 1

I know that computer can not investigate a collition and determine who is at fault, but it was no where this bad in 42 or BFV. the pilot should NEVER get 5 tk's for the people in the same HELO

Yeah. I was flying a jet on "Clean Sweep" last night, a chopper rammed ME and I got punished for it. I even saw the message from me (the knock it off one if you hit a friendly), but they still punished ME for it.

I really wish the punish thing would go away, especially since it is so easy to kill a teammate now.

I have recoded the BF2 server to handout TK's to Dinky even though he's the one being killed. :)

Mines.... How many times do I have to say this?

MINES DO NOT SHOW UP WITH THE SKULLS AND CROSSBONES UNLESS YOU HIT LEFT ALT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen the skull and crossbones on mines that weren't mine but my team mates, and I've even accidentlly hit some. I still don't punish for it. Mines are traps for the enemy (key word is TRAP) not for your team, and being punished cause a team member hits one sucks. It's bad enough you get a -2 without the punish but I can accept that.

In the heat of a battle, a tanker is scanning the skies for attack choppers, scanning the distance for enemy armor. The last thing he's scanning is about 10 feet in front of his tank for mines. If you lay mines, then you accept the consequences.

I like the idea someone put up above on the mines... it would be nice to be able to turn that one off for tk punish...

I realize that would probably make a lot of tk'ers go to using mines... but IMO most people who hit a friendly mine are not paying attention or are too gung ho... either way it is their own fault, not the engineer's...

On our server we have had to deal with this same issue...several people who love to lay mines... works great in matches/scrims... but not for normal play, where people just don't watch

Methinks he has been killed by mines one too many times.

I hate to say it, but the best way to deal with mines is to not use them. It sucks I know but all you can do is come here and bitch about because people will still act childish and immature-that won't change. What can change is your play style. I try to throw my mines at oncoming vehicles. If I miss, I go pick it up. It's that simple. Don't leave mines unattended. Remember-a mine is a terrible thing to waste.

I've only been Tk'd once or twice by mines. I hardly ever play in armor.

Since you already know what's going to happen, ie friendlies going to get tk'd and then punish you, why continue using mines? But if the engineer insist on using mines, then it's their responsibility to lay mines down at the appropriate times and then PICK THEM UP accordingly. They have a wrench, use it to pick up the mines that they laid. If they drop mines and then run away, then that's irresponsible and should be punished. If they don't get punished, then they will continue to lay mines irresponsibly.

IMO.

My only real reason for posting this was in the hope that the people who do this will think about who's fault it was before they punish. There are examples all over this game that you get punished for with no good reason( A-A firing on enemy and a friend you can't see go down because of it)Please all who punish with out hesitation consider what has happened first because most of your team TK's on accident only.

Since Engineer is probably my favorite class I have adjusted to this problem by changing the way I lay mines. Now I stick with laying them close to one of the flags I consider it likely the enemy will try to capture soon. There is no reason for one of our vehicles to be running up on one of our flags on most maps (Some you can't avoid it due to where the vehicles spawn) and this has resulted in decreased TK's for me while still allowing me to kill 7-10 enemy vehicles per round. I also like to go to the enemy airfield and plant mines on their runway, shrug. Not much danger of TK's there. Limited use is better than no use, shrug.

Well I know a couple of regs that have taken measures into their own hands, I won't name names cause I know they didn't mean it but you guys have to remember that you represent WiH and what it stands for. When these non regs come here and act like total noobs all we can do is tell them what is allowed and what is not allowed...don't sink to there level :yaya: Don't get me wrong, I get frustated when I'm in a squad that do a BH run and some random guy jumps in and we lose a squad member(which most of the time is a engineer we need :wallbash: ) but there is no rule that says he can't do it..first come first serve, I guess.

I still wish they'd fix the allies looking like enemies bug

That's a good point Phenix.

If the regulars starts acting like jackass, then they will get the kick/ban by my admins. We don't discriminate and we don't play favorites. Shape up or get shipped out.

Take this as your one and only warning on this.

I got kicked for this last night, two guys drove into the base in a jeep both red, get out and run toward the chopper, they are both red, I shoot one, TK/Punish shoot the other TK/punish, then I got another one after that, needless to say I quit for the night, EA needs to get there act together

When you get banned for "Excessive Teamkills" is that permanent? If so that's so pathetic. I got banned for getting into a plane before other people, they decide to jump infront of me as i take off, die, and then Punish me for it. GROW UP AND LEARN HOW TO GET IN IT FIRST! I'm so sick and tired of these lame idiots who basically TK themselfs and then punish you for it!

Makes a man almost want to quit playing BF2. Work hard on getting a good score and then some retarded 12 year olds have to go and ruin it all for you. :wallbash: :upyours:

The autoban is only 20 minutes.

Like I have been saying all along, once we get a usable admin tool, my admins will be banning the griefers that get themselves Tk'd just to punish.

Uninstalled/deleted BF2CC rcon and reinstalled it after 1.02 update on the server seems to be working fairly well for me. On an earlier post, I saw mention of removing the tk/punish option from the server. I wouldn't suggest this due to the fact that for some strange reason I couldn't get the auto tk limit to work. So, I logged in the other night to find an idiot with 11 tks still going strong. Basically without the tk/punish you will work hell out of the admins.
