hi everyone. i know that a few people are from the chicagoland area and i was wondering if anyone knows where i could grab a part-time job. i'm looking to do between 10-20 hours a week. my financial aid leaves me just short of enough to pay my rent for the year, as well as without money for things like gaming or any other recreation for that matter.

I have a B.A. in psychology and have experience in clerical work, data entry, and some basic customer service skills.

an unfortunate point is that i'm limited to only using public transportation, i have no car or bike. I live by the red line stop at clark and division.

thanks for any suggestions.

There is a Burger King .3 miles from the station!

Would you like fries with that?

if you are over 21 there is a bunch of bars round there, you could look to getting some simple bar work, though might be hard if you do not know how to mix most of the drinks... you could try to be a waiter at a reseraunt, like outback or something too, they tend to go for student types for part time.

the wife said try rush st with the hotels too, your not too far from belmost and clark too there should be a bunch of shops down there looking for something

if all else fails look at craigslist too in the gigs section, you might find something

(i might add that both my wife and eldest daughter are also looking for work right now, but full time, but not had too much luck)

The perch will be back in Montrose harbor in a few weeks. Fishing for them is some cheep entertainment and food.

Yeah my biggest hang up is that I have classes from 2-4:30 twice a week and 2-8:30 once a week, plus my work-study job takes my mornings other days. So I have a limited range of hours I can work. This economy has really made it an employers market. I knew people back home who were working as managers at McDonald's who had previously been making almost six figures if not six figures doing some other job for 15-20 years. If it's like that here than I just don't have a chance of competing for a job.
