My game use to work fine before upgrading. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game because at first I couldn't even get it to start. Anyway I am missing textures. Also if I click join game right away the game crashes and also crashes explorer.exe which will not even restart using the task manager. If I wait 10 seconds before clicking join game this is not a problem and it enters the game. But here is what my screen looks like below, also AA doesn't work and I reset all catalyst control center settings to application defaults.

FIXED For anyone who finds this thread by search engine. This problem started with the 1.5 patch. It seems to affect the 64 bit Windows 7 users who are running an ATI GPU. You have to kill the DWM.exe (Desktop Windows Manager) process tree in the task manager. By doing this you lose all the neat and special effects of windows 7 but you can play the game fine.

Dual monitor setup with a 1680x1050 screen and a 1024x768 monitor I put to use.

Edit: I just reinstalled catalyst but the problem still persists.

I wish I could change the thread title because this is different than I originally thought. This seems to be a serious hardware problem. I checked my cpu voltage with cpu-z and it said 2.13 volts. My first thought was that it can't be right but my cpu was idling and 55C when I checked. I shut down my pc and went into the bios and it was set correctly. But when I checked the PC health status it read:

CPU Vcore: FAIL
DDR18V: FAIL
3.3v: 3.4V
5V: 5.08V
12V: FAIL

I reset the bios and everything is correct now and my idle temp is at 32C, but I have no idea how long it has been like that. I am worried.

What do you want to change it to? I will change it.

Glad you figured it out but the damage (if any) is already done. I'd be willing to bet you cut the overall lifespan of your hardware short, but it's still running. I'd just enjoy some gaming for right now.

Do you happen to have a PSU tester? Also, are any of the chipset coolers (other then the CPU) active systems? Just wondering if the north/south/whatever bridge is cooled by a fan. I've had some weird intermittent problems when a northbridge fan started to go bad. :dunno: Trying to think of whatever might help.

Thanks for the change drayu.

The motherboard chips do not have any fans. I put a voltmeter on the 12v rail to check but its at 12.10 which is also what CPUID Hardware Monitor reports. Over night the 12V rail has only fluctuated between 11.9 and 12.16v. I ran Prime 95 over night with everything stock and everything seems fine so far. Later today I am going to try to clock it back up to 3ghz. It has been stable for 3dmark at 3.6ghz and 1.5volts before and if it can do that again then it would have taken no to minor damage. I will also try that again later. But ya I definitively had to lose some years.

In the mobo bios the voltages are small increments and then the last 2 voltage settings are 1.75 and 2v. This was higher than the max the motherboard is even supposed to output.

Alright I got everything fixed that I know of. Overclock to 3ghz is stable and I reinstalled Win 7 and all my software.

This didn't fix the texture issue but it seems other people are having the same problem since the 1.5 patch. It seems to affect the 64 bit Windows 7 users who are running an ATI GPU. You have to kill the DWM.exe (Desktop Windows Manager) process tree in the task manager. By doing this you loose all the neat and special effects of windows 7 but you can play the game fine.
