i just saw that modern warfare 2 is retailing for $60 US release price for pc. there is alot of talk about that.
im afraid if the numbers show that enough are willing to buy at that price, it will quickly become the new standard.
im already not looking forward to likely losing "free" maps and free multiplay for fps in the future.
anyway, i am not going to buy it until it is down to at least $50. if battlefield products release soon enough, i will wait longer.
i also see people trying to organize boycotts to send the message.

Pricing has never really been an issue for me when dealing with video games... but i can see how the constant raising prices are making people really think before buying games these days, and thats just for the software the hardware to run this games are also rising it seems too.

And Activision starts to hunger for the EA greed.

That's bullshit, I won't be buying it till it's at $50, too.
On the upside (for me at least), if the game sells extremely well, my stock in Activision Blizzard will go way up

just to make you feel better if in US is going to be $60, that means down here is going to be between 50-60 euros ....that is $70 to $85.......

Fovos is right, if you guys can get it for 60 USD we have to pay 60 euro for it!! what sucks even more!!
btw for CS:S you still have to pay 26 euro here, the same price i paid more then a year ago....
anyways i am going to wait too!! if its at 50 i buy it (they should have patched all the major bugs then also)

Killerfurby i will order my games from US. buy them from there & shipping it still comes cheaper...drawback if you are unlucky and a game disc it is damage or something and you need to change it.
TIP: if you are using Xbox 360 lots of games come by companies as multi region. so you can use US games (they are cheaper) in your European console if you have one....just google the games to make sure.!

my problem is we have some stupid laws to avoid that!! as example the hakenkreuz in WW2 RTS games is banned in germany so the games with it are illegal here and the customs know that also you can't see blood in german game versions (because of censor crap)only thing i can do is downloading the blood patches (isn't legal anyways but i think i am old enough to decide that by myself)
so if i would order them somewhere else i may loose my money and may become trouble also!!
btw last time i got catched i had to pay 1500 euro plus 39 euro for them to destroy the disks!! and its not worth to try it again...otherwise i would do it:D
but thx for the tip
for consoles in germany you can only run german games on it, alot of companys will unlock them for you but you loose your warranty then!!

Looks like I can confirm this, when I pre-order games, I go ahead and pay them off and looking at the receipt, I paid $65.54. For those who want to do the math at how much it is before tax, state and city salestax combined come to 9.25%.

State sales tax alone is 7.0% on normal goods, city is 2.25%. I live in the wrong state.
On topic: I can't believe it's going to be this much! Had I known, or been paying more attention at the time, I may have waited, oh well.

Well in that case ill be buying it online via digital download at some sites such as direct2drive or steam or whoever has it. Those sites will charge you the 60 dollars but with no tax. You would be saving the 6 dollars in tax compared to when you buy the game in store.
But you would be spending 5 dollars more compared to if it was 49.99 ... with that 5 dollars extra im glad not to buy it in store. I personally would have paid someone to go to the mall and pick it up for me.
Also the same day it is released example 11/11/09 you get your cd key in the email + download access at 12:00am 11/11/09. The last two games i bought were like that.
I personally prefer direct2drive ... steam and their software I hate running.

Steam

Gamesplanet <- they work with ubisoft ... got hawx there
