That's about $ 467k each for 2,244 of them.

So they are going to start replacing HMMWV in Afghanistan and with these M-ATVs? What does that mean to the future of AM General the company that makes the HMMWV I wonder?

Exports. I noticed on the boob tube yesterday that during the turn over of all Iraqi cities from US to Iraqi forces that they were driving M1A1 tanks. I bet HMMWVs will be sent to all our 'allies.'

Remember the Georgians armed w/ M-4s and MARPAT uniforms? I can't believe I'm turning into the conspiracy kooks I made fun of five years ago. Remember what Eisenhower said about the Military Industrial Complex.

The Military Industrial Complex is alive and well and still the most powerful complex entity in the country next to the financial sector.

Interesting vehicle, I hope, for the sake of our service men and women it has better armour than the HMMWV.
