When I say this what do you think of. I thought it was some guy got to the 1st bowser in 20 min. Watch this to see what really goes down.
Plaese watch this thing all the way throught before reading my next post or it will ruin all of this video. It is the sickest thing I have ever seen. And I thought I was goo at mario.

after watching this I saw that my friend steeltoe who had posted this had this to say about it.
Do you consiter this video legit!? or fake.
So far I've heard things as:
1. He could have recored playing and only spliced in his perfict runs, -plasable
2. Use of the 2 exsploits should not allowed when setting a record.
I replyed with
I couldnt have done that but I was quite good at mario64. I had all the starts out there and I could beet it in under a few hours and wasnt impressed by some of the earlier moves but once he got that #### rabbit in his hands he did great. I didnt know about those exploites.
After watching it a few times I think this:
1. I think that if somone had the talent to have runs like that in mario at all they are good enough to do it everytime. This is probobly some guy who devotied his life to mario and got a devorce and does nothing eles but mario.
2. He is setting a speed record for a nintendo 64 game. If it was a current pc game it that would be a legit argument but there were no upates for 64 games so the exploites are part of the game.
Even if he did splice video he is still the #### best mario player I have ever seen to have runs like that in the first place.
 OMG that guy is freakin hardcore!!   Whether he spliced runs or not i'm seriously impressed.I looked hard for any joins and all i could spot was a slight jump at around 8mins20 but the sound was still in sync and you can get slight jumps like that just after you save.I cant see how he could have faked it.Whenever he was thrown back out a painting the star icon at the top right was always flashing to indicate he'd just won one and the coin records always tied up with what he had previously done. While these two things could be controlled with an action replay cartridge the sound was always seamless and perfectly in sync and i dont see how he could fake that.
While part of me feels you couldnt possibly do what he did i have to say i think it was legit. And i agree exploits on the n64 are part of the game and therefore completly legitamit in a record.

Out of boredom I watched this and I was pretty amazed. I dont think its a fake, that guy knew every trick in the book and even when he messed up a little it showed. This is obviously a video of Saur. :P

There was a video of a guy doing a speed run in Mario 3. It turned out he used an emulator slowed down immensely. He also was quick saving and reloading. When he "came clean" he said that he hadn't been trying to show off any mad skilz, he was just trying to make a sweet video. He estimated some inSANE number of quicksaves and reloads during the creation of the video, somewhere in the five digits, I think.
Unless it's for some prize or official record, I just always view videos like these for entertainment- if it's a fake, at least it's sweet.

Yea I think I saw the mario 3 video, he beat the game in 11 minutes I think it was, but he used the warp trick, so it was faster but it was amazing all the same. This guy was ridiculous too the slide thing was awesome, that takes some nice timing.

I used to do the slide trick to so that didnt impress me. I also ran everywhere longjumping. That thing that got me was that stupid rabbit trick to get in the second bowser door. Then that fast jump up the neverending stairs. I never knew there were any bugs in that game. That is why this impressed me so much.
