Those are pretty freakin sweet. I wish I still had room to sim seriously. I miss my days of Falcon 4 and FSX.

Just one box is $150? Pass. I'd rather get a Track IR thing. Probably be more immersion for a little less $$. Would help to have a gargantuan monitor though. Gotta admit those things look neat though.
Soupy - Oleg Maddox (The IL-2 Stumovik guy) should be releasing his new sim within a year. Set in the Battle of Brittan. The damage model looks incredible in it. Also I guess you'll get to man the ground based AA guns. Could be a lot of fun jumping in an 88 and taking shots at ground attacking Jugs. Also that Russian helicopter sim came out in the US a few months ago. From the guys who did Lock On: Modern Air Combat. Been meaning to check that one out. It'll be able to link up with the other Sims they're working on. An AH64 and A10 are the ones they have lined up for the future.
Long live the hardcore sim! as I go back to playing stuff on the PS3..

There should be a sticky for flight sim games. I am totally lost on whats out there right now, and am DYING to get back into it.

Black Shark is the one by the creators of LOMAC. Looks amazing as well. I guess its super realistic.

Thats it. Couldnt think of the name. I think it would kick ass to get some WiHer forming up a chopper squad. That chopper is only a one seater so everyone would get trigger time. I remember the mission builder for LOMAC was kick ass. It was easy and fairly quick to create your own little conflict. I'm going to hope that they included it in Black Shark. Wish the mission builder for IL-2 was as easy.

I'd be down. I have to find the cable for my X52, but I have pedals and everything. Just need to get the game!

Is anyone playing any hardcore flight sims? I kinda miss the old days when Janes would release stuff. Not hardcore, I know, but still I enjoyed it.

I still load up IL-2 in regular cycles. Every few months or so, I'll get back into it. I load up LOMAC a lot less frequently. Dont get me wrong, I love the game. If I dont play it for awhile though, it takes me 20mins to figure out the damn radar again. I'd be more then happy to go though that frustration if I were to have some real wingmen though. Would kick ass to have a few A-10s plowing the AA defenses while some F15s kept the pesky Migs away.
Please note, I WILL laugh my ass of at any BF2 aces when they discover what an 'Angle of Attack overlimit' is and their 20-30 ton plane spins helplessly into the ground. :hehehe: Real pain getting a massive jet out of those situations.
IL-2 is just a easier to jump back into. Takes me a bit before I can start being effective, but it's still fun. If anyone is interested in doing some IL-2 stuff, we should really talk more about it. I played around with running a little server awhile ago and I'm sure I could relearn it quickly. Relearning the mission builder will take longer.. I do remember that WiHer Redy taught me A LOT of very useful tips in IL-2, I'd be happy to pass them along. Like locking the tail wheel before trying to take off, it makes a night and day difference in the difficulty.
Black Shark I will be buying but it's probably a month off. (Still paying off my fishing trip)
As for the Janes games... I do miss them. I am happy that Sonalysis still makes games though. Dangerous Waters is an excellent multi platform naval combat sim.

If you do get Black Shark, lemme know. I registered on their forums, trying to decide if I REALLY want to get it, would love to know if a fell WiHer thought it was a good buy.

Been thinking about getting IL-2... been playing flight sims for a loooong time, and that's the one title that's sorely missing among the games I've played. It would be more of an incentive to get it if there's WiH interest in playing online. I think GOG.com has it for $10.

Well I'm interested in getting something going eventually. If they ever release Beyond the Red Line, or something like that I'm extremely interested. I miss playing XwA as I had some good wingers on that.
