I have a feeling they are going to try and murder my childhood memories of this Disney movie. I loved this movie when I was a kid. I really hope they don't mess this up.

Yeah it would be really unfortunate if they messed that up. Kids should just watch the old one. It's still a great movie.

i loved that movie we screened it at our cinema during the summer i watched every show when i was a nipper..... and when it came out on VHS....
i had the hots for that chick when he was held in the NASA base...
looking back, maybe not now.... but then yes... maybe it was the 80's fashion or something...
erly CGI FX too... somethng nostalgic about them too...
Disney are goingto so crew it up... it is like they do not have an origional bone in their body anymore and can only make remakes and sequels

Yep. If they don't wholely screw this movie up maybe they'll remake The Explorers next. That was my other favorite of this genre in that period.

You're kidding me. How the hell can you remake this flick?!?!?!
It's not like it's super outdated or anything? Sure, no one remembers Starsky and Hutch except you old fogeys... and sure, the 80's style is dated too. Though looking around Seattle these days is like going to a mall circa 1984 (black and white checkered clothing, tight jeans on guys, and neon colors? ffs people!!).
Ugh.
It's a shame the only original movies coming out these days are from Pixar. Though Slumdog Millionaire was really good.

So true... Most of the movies I get psyched about now a days are all either remakes or sequels/spin-offs of old films.
