It's got the drive train from a Mercedes Unimog.

It's like a pocket monster truck!

Sounds like they kept the engine from the Unimog.

I wouldnt mind getting a "standard" Smart car. I've seen them up close and they look pretty sharp. Relatively expensive too. I here there's a waiting list though.

if you listen to all the naysayers you should never get a car smaller then a tank.... they all sit there and cry about how unsafe these small cars are in a collision with a much larger car at speed...

it is funny however that many people survive in europe drving similarly small cars.... and there are plenty of full size cars and trucks over there too... i had 2 accidents in my new "super-mini" when i was in england walked away both times with out a scratch, (except my pride) and both time i had hit a much larger vehicle.... so either they make euopean cars from unobtainium or they are scaring us to buy things we do not need...

i miss my small zoom-zoom..... seemed so much faster then the big hulk i drive now...

I haven't gone to a dealer....all I know is you can order them on the net. Choose your options, colors, upholstery, etc. and they tell you where they will send it. It does take some months (last time I checked).

i like the new mini, but not that much, i feel betrayed having dealt with the old minis so much, they had.....erm.....character.....

my wife would love a new mini, i specced one out the other day and found it would cost more then my current car.... IMO it is not worth it... even with the 3 yr no maint BMW offer
