Apparently the maplist that was fine with 1.01 isn't fine with 1.02. Somehow the 1.02 is picky about the format of the maplist. Our provider have fixed our server's maplist so we'll see how it goes.

Our provider re-installed the whole server for us to see if that helps with the crashing. According to them, the other v1.02 servers are pretty stable.

Sorry for the inconvenience fellas.

Server continues to crash: 2:30am, 6am, 12:50pm, 2pm CDT....

I've asked the provider to remove Fushe Pass and Dragon Valley out of the rotation to see how it does without those 2 maps.

You need to try to work a free month of service out of them for all of the hassle. A popular site like WiH has a lot of influence over potential renters.

Is it me or has the server fallen over twice today?

or

wihadmin is kicking me again

Either way I'm going home...see you all tonight around 9:30 PST...

No wait...I'll jump on and play a bit first...

Server has been crshing a lot. I've been working with our provider in trying different things out to see if anything helps. So some of the crashing is real crashing. Some of it is from us restarting the server for configuration changes to take effect.

Your Provider should give you a break(payment wise) until you get what ya pay for :yaya: :dunno:

Folks, I wanted to let you all know what's been going on behind the scene. We've been working with the provider to eliminate things out that could be the cause of the crashings. So far we've tried everything but the server continues to crash a lot. The only things left to eliminate is BF2CC and VOIP. So we will be eliminating BF2CC today and run the server without an admin tool. This will delay the process of making room since we now have to be in-game and connected to the server ourselves in order to issue a kick command.

So please bare with us as we are doing everything we possibly can to solve this problem.

You guys are doing a fine job of trying to get it running smoothly for us. We can wait. Thanks for the work.

any luck with the server crashing issue? I notice it tends to get really laggy before it crashes...

The frequent crashings appears to be related to our use of the BF2CC admin tool. The more we use it, the more frequent the server crashes. Something changed in server v1.02 code that makes it sensitive to BF2CC admin tool. Normally, I monitor the server during the day via BF2CC and at nite, the admins use BF2CC to kick/make room for you guys. So the more we use it, the more the server crashed. Yesterday, we stopped using BF2CC and the server only crashed once or twice, which is pretty normal for BF2 server.

I am working with our provider in testing and deploying the latest version of BF2CC admin tool to our server to see if that is more stable than the version we're using now.

As a result of not being able to use BF2CC, please be patient when you ask us to make room for you, as we now have to:

1. Find a player to kick
2. Get their ID #
3. Open up console
4. Type in a series of admin commands to kick

4 steps now vs the click click click before.

kewl thanks, I have learned to just be patient and wait for a map change, room tends to always open up on map changes...

Bring back Dragon Valley and Roushe. I still believe these maps are unrelated to server crashes seeing how Ive seen WiH server crash on every single map. They may have got a bad rap due to the memory leak issue and now the BF2 admin tool issue.

I forget Roushe..But Dragon Valley was awesome.

I did more research on the other ranked servers out there. They all crash 2-3 times daily like ours. Hard crashes too like the ones where you're frozen on the screen with the "connection problem" message. EA servers are having the same issues as well.

As much as I'd like to have a stable server, it's not going to be possible right now bc of the buggy server code. It was like this too when bf42 and bfv first came out. I'm hoping once DICE Sweden comes back from their vacation, they'll release 1.1 which will address of the crashing issues and other glaring bugs.

If you guys talk to your contacts at EA, please tell them "WTF!" for me. :)

My little birdie told me there is still a small memory leak in v1.02. EA is working on v1.03. I'm trying to get my little birdie to let me in on some info about that's in v1.03.

On a slightly positive note, I was sitting at server select, lookin' at the 64/64 server pop., waiting for it to open up, when all the sudden after a refresh, it said 0/0. I happend to arrive just after a crash and got right in ;)

I knew it! If this is in the client program too, then that could explain my random crashing to desktop that I've been having since 1.01. I'm guessing since I only have 512 RAM, it's more noticeable on my PC than it should be.
