I figured it was only a matter of time until the military went this direction, but I still think it will have to wait until there are massive improvements in either battery tech or small auxiliary power units. The suits will also have to incorporate power/lift assist features.
The HALO suit, Starship Troopers (not that horrible movie, the book Robert Heinlein, a MUST read) or Armor Sci-Fi based platforms are needed.

thx for posting this!!but,
this suit will just make more people dead!! it makes you slower (easier target) and it kill's you by dehydration very fast!! there isn't even an AC in the helmet its just some stupid fans.... in a desert....(like afghanistan) you are soo dead!!
not to mention all the importent parts of the body that aren't protected and the cutdown on your view radius!!
its a nice idea and i am pretty sure the military is working on much better stuff since years

This takes baby steps Furbs and that was my point. Crawl, walk then run. This thing is still in the second trimester IMO. It will need an environmental unit, multi-communications,interlocked with everyone else, HUD weapons aiming. I could go on and on.

yeah i don't think he is a bad guy, he has a dream...
what i mean is just, i am sure the military allready has better stuff like that and they don't use it because its too expensive and not worth!! and i won't protect against ied's because the blast is killing you anyways!! it doesn't matter if or what kind of suit you have, if you get blown away. have you ever heared about a bomb squad guy who survived a big detonation?? even with their suit's?? why do they use robots when ever they can?? and i am sure the military figured that also, thats why they better focus on unmaned stuff!! and for the infantry you know they are just fodder!! come on you where in the military also you know how this works!!

Of course theres no air conditioners in the suit, the guy's Canadian... its cold enough as it is.
Seriously though, he has some pretty impressive inventions, apparently he was able to create a material that could withstand more force for its thickness then any other material used by any military. (From his wiki page - repeated high caliber rifle shots in the same spot)
