CS keeps crashing for me with a looping sound, which cannot be stopped unless I reboot via the reset button. In steampowered support area there is an article about this and soundblaster cards, which I have, but none of thier advice helps. Anyone else having any problems like this or any advice?????? :dunno:

Sounds like an IRQ conflict.
Run msinfo32.exe and go to Sharing tab.

No IRQ conflict or sharing, but it was sharing the I/O port with pci to pci bridge, which shouldn't be a problem...so I guess I am going to have to scale down my hardware acceleration...I hope I don't lose much sound quality in game.

I stopped having that problem after I upgraded my system, but I also believed that my fan on my CPU had been dying for quite some time tho.

I can't play CS anymore because every 10-15 minutes my system freezes with a looping sound, and I have to reboot...I can't even alt tab out. Until valve/creative (I say creative, because I believe they are the culprit) get thier head out of thier asses, its too unbearable. Does anyone know what happens if you lower your hardware acceleration??? Does it lessen your quality, b/c that is one of the suggestions on steampowered.com. I know that I already posted about this but It wasn't this bad...I just formatted my machine yesterday too. Others have suggested irq conflicts...here is a list of my conflicts.

Already looked there, not much help...I just wondered if anyone else with a creative card is having similar problems? and if the conflicts looked okay? and if the hardware acceleration made a difference in quality.
