I never saw a post about this announcement so here it is:

It has been confirmed that Infinity Ward will be making COD "6" and be returning to the Modern Warfare arena = Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It should release this year... Call of Duty has become the worst FPS cash cow since Unreal Tournament.

Call of Duty can go fuck itself, I'm through with this series after COD4 more or less stopped running for me, and when COD5's demo only black screened on me.

There are lots of fixes for those black screen problems. You should check the forums if you still have the game. Most often it was (ironically) out of date sound drivers I believe. Also, be aware that the system requirements for COD4 and COD:WaW were slightly different. There are a number of ATI cards that can run COD4 but will not run COD:WaW (it will only gives you a blackscreen and you can hear the game running in the background). It was because treyarch dropped pixel shader 2.0 support for WaW.

But i digress...

The only thing that will make this game worth it is if they update the engine a bit. Fix the bullet penetration. Make distructible environments. Add some vehicles. Not cater to the arcade style console players so much. Even then, it will probably feel like rebuying COD4 only a year after its release.

Nah.. I'm buying it.

COD4 is still fun as heck, and COD5 (multiplayer) is loads of fun.

All you haters can go back to waiting for Duke Nukem: Forever, forever.

Antigen... OUT!! :woot::spank::minigun::cheers:

I went to the link at IGN but other then them saying it is suppose to be released sometime this year it didnt have any other details. How will this differ from CoD4?

Not a whole lot of information is out on it besides the title name. IW hasn't come out with any solid info on it yet.

That would be cool

Have some vehicles like COD5 :woot:but still be a ground pounder at it's base.

I still really enjoy cod4 and cod5.

Ugh! Please, no. I've HATED vehicles in online games since Halo PC. What ruined it for me? Banshee whores. Ever since then I've hated vehicles in games with one exception, the BF series. To me, the size of the maps made up for the presence of vehicles, anything smaller than that is just too crowded for vehicles, IMO.

tribes, unreal tournament (2004 and onward, at least), and Red Orchestra have all succesfully integrated vehicles into game play. I think one of the significant design components in making this works is making sure that infantry have readily available means to destroy enemy vehicles.

Mines and effective anti-tank rockets would have to be a must.

Now that I think of it, one of the other things that is consistent with those games in regards to vehicles is that most of the time (with the exception of the Stug in RO and three of the smaller vehicles in UT) they require more than one person to operate completely. This accomplishes two things: 1. You must invest a more significant amount of your human resources to making a vehicle go and be effective. 2. It takes a lot of team work and communication for the vehicles to be effective.

Lastly, they make vehicles readily available to both teams. Nothing is worse than a game that gives one side a tank and the other side has to deal with it somehow.

BTW, I should mention that they have given no indicators that vehicles will be included. The only indicator is that Treyarch included tanks in WaW. However, Infinity Ward has never included vehicles in its Call of Duty MP components. The only COD to do that prior to WAW was United Offensive and that was a different game developer - Grey Matter Interactive - which was swallowed up by Treyarch.
