I'm just curious how much is gas prices is some of your areas.

Here in Redwood City, CA, The Arco has 2.49$ while Shell and Chevron has it at $2.55 for Unleaded. I'm just curious if we still have the highest gas prices here in the Bay Area.

yeah, but we're still paying $4+ for coffee at Starbucks (nope, not a gallon either).

... so, where's your perspective?

price out coffee
price out water
price out red bull
price out Coke, Pepsi, etc
hell, price out 5W-20 oil

gas is still cheaper yet we bitch the loudest about it. :wallbash:

30 cans Bud @ 12 oz.= $16.99

$ 16.99 / 30 = $ 0.566 per 12 oz.

12 ounce [US, liquid] = 0.09375 gallon [US, liquid]

1 gallon/.09375 = 10.666 Buds per gallon

10.666 x $ 0.566 = $ 6.03 per gallon of Happiness

90 happy cans of Bud per week = Don't give a rats ass about gas prices

Oh and in Minnesota gas is pretty ugly around $2.45 + per gallon.

Yeah but you don't buy 10-15 cups of coffee each time you go...unless your Persephone.well speaking relative it would be about 6 cups of coffee a gallon.

so a ford focus holds 14 gallons

so in a single go it would be 84cups of coffee.

and at starbucks cost, a single "fill up" with coffee would be $336.00 a pop.

But im speaking realistically. Lets say you go to Starbucks everyday and have 1 coffe for 4.50 each time. Thats $31.50. You go to the gas station twice a week and fill up 24 gallons total at $2.40 a gallon. Thats $57.60. But honestly I dont think a lot of people go to Starbucks more 2-4 times a week.

48 gallons a WEEK!!!???

Now let's see......

You play video games like 23 hours a day. That leaves 7 hours a week you might possibly drive. If you have your foot to the floor in a Hummer, then you might burn say, 6 gallons a hour. That's 42 gallons a week.

That figure is likely wrong, but you can't possibly drive out 48 gallons a week. Even in a psycho car that's 500 miles. No one that plays video as much as you can have time to drive 500 miles a week.

My own commute, lucky me, is less than 1/4 mile. Sparing myself a trip to Wallyworld, I can go a month for $5. Woot.

In some places you can get a pint for about £2.10 but its getting rarer these days and in some places you can pay as much as £3.50. I know out here I've paid up to $8.00 for a Guiness or Bass, depending on the bar. Pints are generally about $5.00, unless it's a cheap-ass beer or a micro-brewery.

Price is at anywhere from $2.25 to $2.39 for regular in Tucson. I gotta run premium though, which was like $2.59 when I last filled up. And even premium isn't enough, my car's supposed to be running 93 octane, not 91. So I haven't been flooring it as much... in times of cheaper gas, I'd be paying for either fuel additives or half a tank of 100 octane.

At least I get ~21 mpg.

Ugh I feel ya bro. 94 Z28 gets about 8 mpg and of course wants only premium with is 2.79 here. I fill up around 3-4 times a week and my commute is/was only about 10 mins + the odd trip to the liquor store. *sigh* I gotta get rid of this car

2.20 - 2.30 for regular unleaded here in Atlanta. Luckily my car gets 30-36 mpg (it's small, what can I say). I'm going to get an audi in the next few months, but that will knock off a good 10-15 mpg from what i'm getting now :|

There is an alternative fuel type called E85, which most people don't know about, that some cars use. It is significantly cheaper ($0.50 or so) than normal gas. Check out www.e85fuel.com to see if there is a station near you.

Garrr, they're not Photoshop jobs, and they're not in the US either. I wish some of our British friends would speak up and let people know those signs are in POUNDS and PENCE for litres of petrol.

Im paying 2.79 here in Tampa right now but with the oil refineries shut down in Louisiana you can fully expect those prices to jack up in the next few weeks. President just declared a gas emergency an hour ago. I filled up yesterday when I heard from someone I know that his friend, who drives gas from storage areas to gas stations, was told to "go away" we have no gas here. All my friends at work filled up all their vehicles too.

Didn't even read this entire thread.

We get our gas in GA from LA so yesterday they made an announcement that all gas stations had to stop pumping at 5:00 due to a shortage of gas until federal reserves of gas are brought in. People were waiting in line for 45 mins to get gas. I got in line and gas was 3.29 for regular, when I went to fill up it ended up costing me 3.99 a gallon. Heard on the radio some parts of the city was 5.19 a gallon for regular freakin gas....

It might have been three years ago or longer but, there was a gas station in Baytown, Texas where gas was .89 a gallon! In case you do not know, the Houston-Baytown area has the fist largest in the world and many others among the top five in the US. Since then the price has more than quadrupled in some places around the area.

I am actually glad. The short end sucks however, this finally gives the nation powerful motivation to seek alternatives. Now, if finally we could kill our other glutonous habit of eating incessantly in this area.
