Maybe you don't anyway, but they are a financial disaster and may not have much of a future.

They may not close the ones here, but if they start liquidating, I'll be there....

Same...ho ho ho
... why is this not a reason to shop there?
By the way, it's kind of "Chicken Little" to go screaming about a company being on the edge of collapse, so stay away. That Chicken Little shit caused the WaMu failure.

cuz you won't be able to return your broken Guitar Player after Miss Big-O Boobies snaps the guitar in half with those huge pillows of heaven.
Excuse me, I seem to still be stuck on a few posts back.... and I'm not leaving.
Yeah, but if that's how it breaks, who gives a fuck that it's broken!?!
Well the one in the town I go to school at is on the list, time to start watching to see if they have any big sales.

Maybe I should have just said,
"Best Buy has totally kicked Circuit City's ass!"

motherfucker! I was just in my local Circuit City the other day buying a microSD card. 8GB microSD for $29 on sale is not bad at all. Sure I could have ordered online for half as much, but I gotta have it right away for my camera and no one else around here has it in that capacity. So I'm bummed to see CC gettting liquidated. Now BB is going to be the monopoly.

We are hearing about it at Best Buy too. Best Buy is flourishing, comping up nearly 5% in business from last year(when economy was still decent), but people still come in asking if we're going under too because they hear that Circuit City is. Circuit closed 264 stores or something like that, but 'plan' to remodel and keep their doors open. No idea how well that's gonna go.
I personally see them going under. Which is a good/bad thing for us at Best Buy.

That was CC's plan, but they didn't find a buyer. So now, they are dead. Liquidating. Best Buy will probably end up buying a shit load of CC inventory at a really cheap price.
I don't like CC much, but I don't hate them either. I've bought stuff from them from time to time when they had good prices. But soon they'll be gone and Best Buy won't have to price match any more. Great for BB, but bad for consumers. I hate not having choices.

LOL>>>>> This just in..... 2 #2 male suspects stole a large LCD TV from a Maryland Circuit City. Apparently, these guys walked in, picked up a 52" (forgot what specific size) LCD floor model, and walked out of the store! One of the store employees saw the 2 fellas carrying the large item out of the store and asked if he could help them out w/ fetching some rope to tie it down..... when the employee returned, the guys were already gone..... Too bad, I didn't think of this! L O Freaking L!

Figures that the Circuit City in town would close down before they file.

Wonder if ours closed yet?
Before Christmas they had 50% off.......though most things you could still get at BB or Wally World for around the same price.... :bs: So much for 50% off.

Circuit City was offering all kinds of 'huge discounts' in the close-out sales but what CC did was MARK-UP the item to above their regular retail price and then 'discount' it back down to around what the regular retail price was. We've heard a lot of customers complain about this... going into CC to expect deals, only to find their 'big deals' were still around retail price.

Dam so many have already closed.
There is one left in Nebraska, one in Iowa and 0 in South Dakota.

Just went past the one here and it has 30% off signs. 30 ?!?!?
They should be much lower than that. And there wasn't much traffic there.

I think it's safe as long as you are not buying big name items. Most manufacturer warranties are better than stock store warranties anyway. Usually you have to shell out like an extra $400 for a good plan for something like an HDTV. I say buy away, particularly for accessories or whatever. I may use this as an opportunity to get a low price LCD monitor or maybe a new headset.
The whole mark-up discount thing is definitely going to be a problem so I would go there with something specific in mind and check prices other places before you go. I would waget the best deals are going to be smaller items that they carry a lot of stock on and it is not worth it for them to try to load off onto places like best buy. This is of course a guess...
