Contacting EA

Does anyone know how to contact EA for some technical support? I can no longer log into my account for BF2, it just sits at the connecting to account server screen. I have even let it sit for a good 10 minutes and nothing. I was playing fine earlier today but it locked up so I ctrl+alt+delete to close it up and ever since it wont let me log in. The thing is I can log into my other account with no problems.

I just began experiencing that problem as well. I'm installing the patch now, then giving it another try. If that doesn't work, I'll have to create a new account and try that. If that is off, than I would assume trying to call EA, but my assumption on that step is that it will yield no actual results, so why bother?

My brother had this problem. It wouldn't log him in for 2 days. Then it magically worked again. :dunno:

4 days now and nothing. I've filled out numerous forums on their tech support site and they have not replied to a single one of them. I really hate EA and can not for the life of me understand why it wont let me log in. Maybe the damn thing still thinks im logged in somehow.

What is the phone number? The one in the manual only called some old mans house.

well my booklet says "for tech support and game hints/tips, phone: 1 902 261 600 (95 cents per minute)...10:00 AM- 8:00 PM.
now first of all nearly a dollar a min?!?! that is where they get thier money. make a buggy, problem ridden game then charge almost a dollar for those people who need to fix those problems...
and secondly what the hell is 1 902 261 600? is that even a full number? if that is 1 plus the area code then they are a number short and if it is just the area code and the number, they screwed up on the positioning of the spaces. anyways pay their extortive fees and get back on because i found something you might like :rockon:

Unless it magically starts working again I think im done with this game. I'm sure I could do it all again but I just don't have it in me. Thats 107 wasted hours of my life. Guess i'll just wait for DoD:S.

Well if all else fails, EA has a 90 day warranty on their games.. you might want to look into that.

The BF2 forums are still there at EA, at least they were a few days ago when I last looked, but the link is extremely difficult to find. The only way I found it was to look at the FAQ at the EA support site. But there wasn't a whole lot of good content there IMO.

I noticed lastnight when I went to log in under my account name it took awhile to load and then a message popped up saying "Your connection to the our server has been refused." I was like "Oh, sh*t!" You have to wonder if they are trying to put a stop to the people whom cheat the stat system, and then you wonder if they F'up and screw up your account...nevertheless, I was able to log in again...it's really flakey right now...EA needs to get thier priorities striaght...

that was the same kind of response i got from EA when my cd key was no good for C&C Generals i eventually had to return the game to the store, i realize that does not help you but just wanted to share so you know it is the same crap they do to everybody

So I let Tykwer try to log into my account....and he did. So I guess this is a computer problem so im doing system restore and if that doesn't work then im going to have to try re-formating.

Edit: This blows. I tried both system restore AND re-formatting, and neither worked. I think the game just hates me.

Kossori: Sounds like they might have banned your IP address (or IP address range) for some reason. Or... it could be that they banned your key.

DO you have a firewall installed? Perhaps the firewall is blocking communication between your client and EA's account server.

Right after I posted this I tried to log in and it locked up my computer (three attempts) and required a hard reset to get my computer going again. I had a firewall running but it shouldn't matter; It has worked since release day with the firewall unchanged.

I noticed both the tracker websites are down... I wonder if there is a connection.

The client intiates the connection to the account server, firewall should not be a factor here.

edit... maybe the server is just having issues and the client doesn't handle being dropped gracefully.

For those that were around during the STEAM release ... EA is far superior in fixing issues and getting things to work vs valve. Over a 2 month period I reinstalled Steam 19 times .... This is so Off Topic lol, admin nerf it!

EA is none for not fixing issues, from playing the NHL series forever it seems like, patches are rare. Granted it's a different beast compared to a FPS, strat, or other type game. It seems they have a pretty good record of horrid customer support.

If they banned my IP/IP range, why can I log into my dummy account? Also, if they were going to ban something wouldn't it be the account? I don't know why they would ban me as all my stats etc are legit. In any case it definately has to do with internet connection as reformatting should have fixed anything else...but what could be the problem. When trying to connect and sitting at the connecting screen the game seems like its trying to connect then just starts to sit there doing nothing and I can't alt+tab and even getting the task manager to come up is hard and when it does come up it says the game isn't responding.

Why would it be your internet connection if you can log into your dummy account on the same machine but not your real account? It has to be an account problem... probably (definitely) on EA's side.

I just tried to log in and it finally worked. I tried twice a day and finally it just said it was tired of fighting me and let me in. I noticed a lot of people saying they were having account login problems the past few days so maybe it caught EAs attention.

Edit: My stats don't seem to be updating though. I played for 2.5 hours last night/this morning before I went to sleep and none of that updated....

you need to make sure your time zone is set correctly in your profile and no the west coast is 3 hours behind the east coast
