Ok guys by the end of the month i should have enough saved up for a new PC. I'm looking to spend about 600-800 bucks on one that will last me a few years with the ability to upgrade in the future. What kind of options do I have on the table?

Sounds good, but I'm gonna have to wait until I get the money for it. I'm close now though.

Well.. I'm thinking you should tone it down a bit. Don't you think your system is a little too fast for you right now?

How about this config:

Beige Steel case
Intel 80486DX @ 33Mhz (with 'turbo' button.. pushes it to an amazing 45Mhz!! wow!)
AIM VESA-local bus mobo- 640k ram, 386 extended ram
4 - 1Mb 48 pin RAM chips (for smokin' performance!)
Award Video SVGA GPU for VESA-LocalBus 1024x768!! WOW!!
Seagate 540Mb HD @ 1300 rpm
2 button logitech mouse (beige, matches your case.. and TWO BUTTONS?!? what will you do with all those buttons!!?!??!)

Your GPU:

Is there any way we can tweak this back to around 700? I have the money for it right now, just need to order the parts.

Tweaked to $620 plus shipping (this does not account for possible rebates)
with the E8200 CPU which I like and the 8800gs card.
The case is $80 and optional. You could use a cardboard box till you have
the cash for the case you want.

The 8800gs is 110
I rather you have the 8800gt 150
would only add $40 to the $620 and be the best $40 spent

Then minus $32 for cpu H/F stock is fine if not overclocking and a cool case.
Then minus $80 for the case and use a cardboard box for now.

$548 without a case and with better video card.
When your short on cash, be creative. LOL

there should be a couple of 8800gs deals on slickdeals that lets you have the thing for 65 bucks after rebate

[W33T] JimmytehHand8

So with everything and the 8800 gt 150 it would come to about 620$? That would work perfectly.

make sure you're motherboard will work with the 45nm processors (8400+).

You may have to update your bios first, or you will have problems installing your os.

I cant get to that list, says that its secure or something like that.

Edit: Gah... its up to 750 again. I just want it set up to the point where its 650ish and I can just buy it before the price changes again.
