Okay so..I went over my friends house today and i'm allergic to her dog. That's absurd sounding I realize since I have a bajillion pets. Pomeranian hair is like cat hair though..I am allergic to regular dog hair. I have asthma though it rarely acts up. So my breathing was only slightly shorter breaths than usual after spending a few hours with her heavily shedding dog..then we go to watch Salem (the witching city) fireworks. Her parents park like..2 miles away. Oh man was that bad. Okay I was on swim team, a soft ball team, and a soccer team..but I also had an inhaler handy then. By the time we got to the wharf I thought I was going to die.

We had like two hours to kill before the fireworks started and all the stores were closed. Melanie and I sat down on the steps of a closed store..she has like 5 bucks in 1s. She's counting them..a guy walks up to us and says "You got some money you can spare for a homeless man trying to get a meal?" And of course we said no. He was in normal clothes..plaid shirt, belt, jeans..and he was clean shaven. So he says "Of course not you two need your money to buy condoms." and he starts to walk off..So I am like "Oh go drown yourself in another bottle of liqour." and he mutters bitch and walks off..

Fireworks gave me the worst headache ever..then on the walk back to the car..i step in puke..while wearing sandles..oh indeed..then i get home sit down, take my medicine for my asthma..hope to relax..my cat jumps on the back of my chair and sticks his claws in my shoulder blade..

I always make it a point to give bums a buck or two. Really interesting people if you sit down and have a cigarette with them.

Well I had money and would have gave him some if it werent for the fact it was 100% obvious he wasn't a bum. He was clearly drunk or on drugs and he was well dressed and cleanly shaven. Bums dont shave themselves perfectly in broken mirrors in the back alley.

Eh, this one time I was stuck downtown in the rain and I kept asking people for some money to call for a ride. But no, the ****ing tourists just said no and walked by, eating their clumpies ice cream and enjoying being dry.

It was a load of shit.

Not saying you were wrong to not give the guy any money, but I will say this. Through a rather interesting series of events I'd rather not discuss, I found myself in Chicago on Jan. 17 without my wallet, any sort of I.D. money, cell phone, car, or any place to stay. It was about 20-25 degrees out and all I had to wear was a pair of jeans and a light hoodie. Wasn't pleasant. It took me almost 7 hours to get a buck for a pay phone. I was not looking my best at the time due to the circumstances which caused me to be there in the first place. However I wasn't a bum. I was an 18 year old guy who wasn't having a good day and was trying to get back home which was about 12.5 to 13 hours away. Moral of the story: If you've got a spare buck somtimes it's okay to give it away, just use commom sense. If he is obviously a drunkard/addict it's up to how kind you are whether to give him the buck or not. But if it's just a normal lookiong dude, someitmes they're just that. Normal people who've found themselves in need of a buck :)

Hippy peace bums are the best! I gave this one bum with a grateful dead beanie on some food. He asked me to go get him his travel sack.. his travel sack just had nat'l ice in it.. i was like oo good travel stuff but he told some funny stories.. and even showed us how easy it was to go get money for more nat'l ice lol.. he was braggin about panhandling and went and got money to prove how easy it was.. just a thought or two if ur gonna give them a buck or two vs some food or somethin they cant use to get liquor.

I too had probably the worst night of my life. I was sitting in the bar talking to a friend of mine when this fat ****h walks by with a load of drinks on a tray. She spills them and promptly blames me and my friend for the accident. Her husband and his friend come over and tried picking a fight with me and her big ass came over and pushed my ass calling me a mother ***ker adn trying herself to fight me.
At this point I'm on the phone with my buddy and his 5 Marine buddies who i've been drinking with all night. I'm calling him and telling him to get his punk ass down to the bar along with everybody else. I mention this to the guys who are about to kick my ass and they decide tp back off. Well as they where about to leave they tried picking anouther fight with me but left as my buddies showed up to back my ass up and whoop some ass. All 6 of them have been waiting all week for an opurtunity like this to happen and they where pissed when the ***ks ditched the bar to hide from them. But for the most part it was a really good night and I found out some really hot chick (at least I think so) likes me. So it was a good night for the most part aside from the almost brawl that I got into.
So it was not as bad as yours Pershone buck all in all it was a bad night with some really good stuff thrown in their.
Sorry if this is off topic.

I agree with you. When I worked in a cafe, we had a guy who panhandled in the front of our store. We didn't really care. Very cool guy. I would give him free coffee and used to talk to him a lot along with the rest of the staff. Didn't drink alcohol tho. Just a guy down on his luck.

i keep getting mistaken for a bum when i wear some of my "cold weather" stuff, which basically consists of an old combat jacket some glove/mittens and a cheapy bucket hat(which is too small now).

was sitting infront of wendies with a med coke because i was thirsty and some dork walked by and threw a toonie right into it(2 dollar coin, for you non canadians). now i would be fine with it happening once, but it happened 3 times that day alone.

Lol I think you're the only one here who agrees with me that was totally bogus of him to tell us to go buy condoms when he was clearly drunk or high. Not to mention he was talking to himself before he talked to us anf after.

worked good too.
$3 a disk
packs of disks that i would use were $10 even

so it basically came to $30 a pack of disks, $10 went to getting disks, $15 went to keeping my hardware running and adding to the software library, $5 went to my pocket. but it all depended what went where on a weekly basis.
