I searched for this but did not find it.

Could some of you UBBER Cod4 players post some tips and tricks?

Like how to NOT GET MY A** SHOT OFF? And other game play stuff?

What perks work best with what weapon?

Setting up your keyboard mouse to make things easier?

* Stay away from Cajun if he's not on your team. It might help you out a little bit...

* If you shoot LordBeer, keep shooting until you're completely out of ammo. That way you know he's dead and you don't find yourself staring into the business end of a deagle.

* Can't find JackBauer? Look up.

* Can't find Killer(Furby)? Look for a dark corner surrounded by claymores.

* Can't find me? It either means I'm flashing myself with my own grenades, dropping airstrikes (Kill 'em All, Let God Sort 'em out!!), or I've heard you coming and I'm lying in wait.

Ohhh right.. but you probably wanted to know how to play CoD4 better.. well, I can't help you there. Sorry.

i got a lot of stuff on free for all servers, by starting with a saw!!
if you only play on WIH then you should try the M4 with deep-penetration
and stopping-power they make your bullets more deadly!! (i hope you have it all unlocked!!
you also should know there are chalenges for each gun to unlock stuff like silencers, red dot scope and different camoflage.
you need to kill 150 with the same gun to get all 3 and kill 150 with headshots to get the other 3 unlocks for that gun!!
you should try out every gun you have unlocked to find the right ones for you!!
you also should create different kits:
you need one with a smg for maps without much open range,
one with an M4 or M16 for maps with more open range
and one with a G3, M14 or a sniper rifle for sniper maps!! (yes i know you will get the G3 and the M14 later in the game)
if you get claymores.... use them i am sure you will like them if you figured out how to use!!

stay away from uav jammer if you dont have a silencer on, because its useless without silencer what means they can see you on the radar when you fire!!

I usually just play team deathmatch. IMO using SMGs is pwnsauce if you got your aiming down right. Reason is cause you move faster normally and two you move hellafast while down the sights. Perks when you can is bandolier, stopping power and deeper penetration. That's just flat out fun to run around and wail on plenty o folk.

If you are playing a hardcore type server.
Perk 1
Bandolier
Perk 2
UAV Jammer
Perk 3
Dead Silence

Weapon

Anything with a sliencer.

That above is some fun sneaking around.

stick with a particular gun for a bit, get used to it.

Try not to run and gun....... :bolt:

I find the UAV jammer very effective on the Hardcore mode, even if you don't have a silencer. Just make sure you kill everything around you when you do fire. :)

I really enjoy the dead silence perk.

If you don't use headphones, use them. You would be surprised by what you are NOT hearing with speakers (even good ones)

Make effective use of your Flash/stun grenades. ie throw a frag, then immediately through a stun or 2. They can't run away from the frag before it goes off. You can also hear a different sound when you flash/stun a room that is occupied. Let's you know someone is there.

-If you shoot Agent, keep shooting or he'll blow your balls off while he's in last stand.
-Can't find Agent? Look for the "pro-tube" trails.
-Can't find sumdum/rpgman look on the tops of the buildings, or any other bizzare or not normal spot.
-Alternatively, watch for smoke trails, it's rpgman doing what an rpg can. :D
-The barrel on fire by the bus on Bog has been declared the Failbarrel 9000. When claymores are dropped inside, they cease to be effective as a killing instrument.

As for useful things:
-x3 special grenades can work fantastic if you use them properly.
-x3 frag grenades is spam city, great on wet works.
-"Sleight of hand" is a great perk if you don't like being caught with your pants down while reloading. You reload everything faster. Including rpgs...
-For semi-automatic assault rifles that you can use like sniper rifles, you will either fall into the G3 camp or the M14 camp. I prefer the way the G3 handles, and it's pretty powerful.
-If you do a "noob tube" kit, make sure to use the overkill perk, with two assault rifles, each equipped with the grenade launcher. The second rifle/grenade launcher gives you at least one extra shot, if not two (I can't remember).
-Keep at least one "Stealth" kit composed of silenced weapons, with uav jammer, and dead silence. Your primary weapon will depend on what you favor of course. The P90 is very popular due to the high ammo capacity, high rate of fire, and decent accuracy and power. Your tier one perk will depend on your playing style. I generally use claymores. Sometimes I use x3 stuns, or bandolier.
-Make a Machinegun kit. "Double-tap" or "Sleight of Hand" are excellent perks on the MG. Increased rate of fire does wonders for the M60, but reloading faster can save your buttocks when you need to put in a new belt of ammo. I always put deep impact on the MG, for effective spamming through walls.
-If you like to be really mobile, use Endurance to run for longer periods of time, and carry a smg.

When you are not in a safe hiding spot keep moving.
There is a reason the default jump key is the space bar,
which is the biggest key on the KB.
A stationary target is easier to hit.

I like dead silence for sneaking up and knifing peeps.
Very satisfying.

M4 with red dot
and
Gold M60E4 heavy gun with stopping power and deep impact for when there
are to many snipers.

Can't wait to get some of those perks, I am only at Major now. Slight of hand has been very useful. Claymores I love, but so far I SUCK with all the sniper rifles. No P90 yet but have used it when I take one from dead peeps.

Jump spamming is really lame IMO ruins the whole feel of COD. Don't forget knifing anywhere on a player = 1 hit KO. Lame design but yeah if you run out of ammo and you see him sprint + knife = dead....

May get flamed for this, but oh well.

Jumping can and will save your life at times. I'm not talking about running around bunny hopping everywhere. I'm talking about certain situations where a single jump will save your life.

Sprinting somewhere and suddenly surprised by an enemy in front of you...jump, then shoot. Gives you a chance to stop the sprinting motion and draw your weapon.
Shooting at an enemy then need to reload in the middle of the firefight. If you don't want to switch to your pistol...jump while your reload is taking place. Beats just standing there letting someone shoot you.
You know someone is in a room or on a capture point that you are about to enter...jump around the corner, wall or through the doorway to surprise them instead of just walking in with the "Shoot me sticker on your forehead".
Sometimes you just get flat out surprised by someone. Maybe you're looking straight and in your peripheral you see them. The enemy has the drop on you already...try a single jump to avoid that fire while it gives you a chance to line them up.

I second this jump tactic. A single jump is not bunny hopping.

There's also the whole going prone when you get hit and not killed. I've been fooled several times by this tactic when not keeping my eye on if the targets name popped up on screen or not. A couple of regulars used to use that tactic. Very good for getting out of the field of fire.

AMEN! I can't tell you how aggravating it is knowing that more than likely someone is there [i.e. a capture point or camping spot] and jump around a corner, in the process getting called a bunny-hopping [insert obscenity here].

I go along with this. I do it for most of those reasons, now I know some more. Sometimes its a reflex action but we dont go around doing it during the whole round. It's the continuous bunny hoppers that annoy me.

Well, I am very adept at the "Bunny Hop" It has helped my play. But I do have a tip for all of you.

Proper use of Uncle_Ho, or "Proper Use Of Ho" when on your team.

When you see ho running to the flag to capture it, pause and let him go. If he gets shot, you will know the enemy is up there. If he gets to the flag, leave him there, if you go in there is a very good chance he will shoot you as he gets spooked easily.

If you see Ho planting explosives don't stay around, if you do he may shoot you or blow himself and you up. He gets spooked easily.

If you see Ho with a sniper rifle, don't worry, he can't hit anything with it. Both teams are safe.

If you see Ho throwing nades stand in front of him as they usually end up bouncing back and killing him and anyone around him.

If you see Ho with a nOOb tube, vote to kick him because he will kill both teams with it.

If you see Ho with a shot gun, take if from him as he is not allowed to have one.

If you see Ho squatting in a corner looking funny, go get him some toilet paper.

If you see Ho trying to detonate C4 RUN AWAY cause he probably has it stuck to his back.

These tips should help your overall score and gaming experience if Ho is in the server.

I learned something else while playing COD4. It is much more fun to GIVE head shots, then to receive HEAD shots. Just the opposite of, well never mind......

My tips would be ....

1. Familiarize yourself with each and every weapon and use a suitable weapon to your style of play and the situation you are in.
eg. Medium to long distance i use the G3 red dot (my weapon of choice, i use it about 65% of the time). Close to medium M4 Red dot or G36 Red dot. Close range Automatic shotty and long extra long range ... either my Red dot G3 or SVD Druganov (svd when i want to annoy people:sniper::dgrin:)

2. Familiarize yourself with the maps in detail, knowing the place where you would be fighting from makes it 90% easier to take them out.

3. Stemming from my second point, since I know where they are coming from I will not rush straight into them. I'll either try to flank them or come from a position which is not where the rest of my team is. Basically what i am saying is if your team is at 12 o clock and the enemy is at 6 o clock i usually try to attack from the range of 2 - 5 o clock, if not ill flank them completely.

4. Once again knowing the maps is a big part, check out there pictures ...

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e393/killerdraft/Cod4_map_crash.jpg
In crash, an example of having superiority in the map for me would be to take a position where the enemy has no choice to come. This way say for example my team is holding a pushing on them. I by myself could hold them back from changing the tide 85%. In the red area anyone that passes has a high probability of not making it past 5 steps so our side is secure. And in turn my tem would just keep pounding on them having them pinned.

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e393/killerdraft/Cod4_map_bloc.jpg
In Block an example of a position would be downstairs where the barrel is burning in the room. From that location you have a clear view of the wall where people love to pass. Either over the wall using the crates, under the wall in the hole, or around the wall. It never amazes me what they would try but for my team its all good, ill get em.

With that said if we are on domination and i got A and B covered the game is, sad to say in our favor. We would get the points, meanwhile my team pushing up giving you a hard time getting to one of our capture points.

5. Always try to have your back covered, whether its someone you know is reliable ... example if i know Mike (IB) is on my team in my area i dont sweat it. If not ill just lay some clays and let em meet their maker.

6. Try to play smarter than the other guy, not trying to reference rock paper scissors with perks, imagine chess.

eg. The rock paper scissor method, to counter attack me with my clay, uav jammer and dead silence with deep impact, bomb squad and stopping power. their thought would be ok i know where jack is ... either a. shoot through e walls and get him or b. land one shot in and drop him (which i admit is a good idea but ...) Ill hear you coming from a mile away, you would be painted on uav and probably wont make it to me alive.

A chess kit would be Bomb squad, Uav Jammer and Deep impact. This way you are not totally sacrificing power but you still have some stealth to get the jump on me plus you got bomb squad to see clays if i have any.

All this is in one kit not separate ones, most of my kits are balanced in similar ways.

7. Also importantly, play for your team to win, not to not piss off the other team. Because if you are not frustrating the opposing team they are getting at you somehow.

Bottom line is play smart.

Also another thing i do is play for air strikes and heli's. If i do get and airstrike and drop it, kill atleast 2 people. Ill call in a helicopter, heli kill 10 more people ... depending on how the score i going ill get myself killed again to get another AS and Heli ...

once again, play smart.
