BF2 Issue

I played COD4 last night, then tried to get into BF2....it no longer loads up. It loads and then minimizes to desktop, and I can't maximize it.....ideas?

Do you have your games installed on the same drive as your operating system, or separate drives?

I use to have a similar issue with Unreal 3 and BF2. I had them installed on another drive with all my games and for some reason when I would play Unreal BF2 did the same thing. The fix was to stop using desktop icons to launch the games cant remember who told me though, or why it worked.

installed all on the C: drive....weird thing is after I logged in last night I have been getting this error......I will have to try to reset all my settings and see what happens.....I may be reinstalling .....which is okay b/c I am learning vista and screwed up a few things already :(

sounds like you need to clear out your video cache... I forget how, but google it, and you will find your answer.

Clearing Video Cache for BF2 doesn't do anything but allow for re-optimization when a map is loaded. If it's loading into Windowed Mode minimized check to see if the shortcut is correct and doing full screen not windowed mode. If nothing else is doing it I highly doubt it's a window's setting unless Vista has an option to start a program in windowed mode. Which would also be in the properties section of the shortcut. If you want to uninstall and reinstall BF2 then go ahead. If you plan on doing a reformat reinstall of everything then I say at least try the above stuff first.
