I recently purchased a new Zalman cooler for my socket 939 processor/motherboard.

I purchased this one :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118004

I got the package and there was no mounting hardware. I contacted New Egg and since it was a retail sealed package they told me that I had to contact Zalman and they would help me.

I contacted Zalman and told them I had purchased this and there was no mounting hardware. They said submit an RMA and check missing parts. (must happen often since they have a box to check)

I did and here was their response:

Hi Mr. XXXXXX,

Thank you for your interest in Zalman cooling solutions. Unfortunately, your cooler is no longer covered by warranty. In addition, our service parts are only available for defective or missing parts, not for use upgrading your system. In order to obtain the parts you need, please go to www.sharkacomputers.com (http://www.sharkacomputers.com/) com to purchase the mounting kit.

Best Regards,
Stuart

Yea what a crock of shit. Selling a cooler without any of the mandatory brackets or connections. Though just to be certain double check that retail box to see if the mounting brackets for your socket set actually are supposed to be included. If not then NewEgg has got it wrong for their description and specs on the product.

though according to the other site listed in the return email: http://www.sharkacomputers.com/zacnam2cohep.html it looks like it should come with mounting brackets. It's a shame really since Zalman and ThermalRight have two of the best number one coolers for CPUs on the market right now. Zalman CNPS9500 (the all copper version of the one you have) and the Thermalright Ultra-120 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835109125)

Oh and here is the direct link to that bracket you need I believe.

I checked the paperwork before I called New Egg in the beginning, It has the parts list in it that showed the stuff that was supposed to have.

I figured in my dealings with Zalman and the fact that they already had a box to check for missing parts in the RMA form this was a regular thing.

After searching Google I found lots of people that didn't their hardware from Zalman, or got the wrong hardware for their application.

I got an email from them today, someone is suppose to call me. I may have mentioned that I was posting my dealings with them on several gaming websites. If it goes anywhere I'll post it here. I wish I could have got that much from Sapphire on the motherboards I had to eat........
