PR Mod Tonight!

Okay folks,
Schedule cleared, all lights are go for tonight for me!!!

I will be on TS from the early evening on. Let's all try to get on the TacticalGamer server tonight as those are usually the best games. They have some rules that must be followed and we can go over those in TS if you have questions, but they are pretty basic:

1. Not HAT or LAT sniping
2. Listen to Commander/Squad Leader
3. If you are using an asset be in a squad labeled with that asset


Tonight, I will lead as best as I can. All I ask is that you go with the kit that I request and listen to orders. With the advent of .765 there has been an increased necessity for tactics and squad work and covering fire.

Can get frustrating at first and can make you want to quit....but hang with me, it will be fun. My plans for tonight are:
1. Have fun.

Well, I finally got the connection taken care of and after 8 kicks to excessive team killing, before I ever fired a shot I finally got in at the end of Zatar Wetlands. Map ended, new map came up, I got in the =HR= squad and was selecting a kit, and BAM! Kicked for excessive team killing.

So I got pissed off, and came here to cry about it.

WAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!

It just isn't in the cards for me to play this mod.

And to top off my night after installing the PR mod, I get kicked from the WiH server for modified content........................................... ...............................(Insert your favorite nasty expletive here)

The kick message you got was not because you were TKing. It's the generic message PB gives you when you are loading into a server that has reserve slots and the public slots are filled. At least on the TG server.

You will notice their server population is 62/64. That is a full server. 2 of those slots are permanent supporting member slots. People will get kicked by an automated process if they join a full 64/64 server. The automated process auto kicks the person on the server with the longest log time, Member or Not. The bonus is a supporting member can rejoin without waiting while the poor pubbie needs to wait for a slot to open.

I only got one screenie last night :( and it wasn't even us...but it looked way cool.

Also, let's do it again, hopefully we will have a better organized team and the commander won't have OUR squad running all over the place building shit for him.

i couldn't get the game to install right i have it on my home cpu but i'm not home right now.. it installed but when a load it up it like only half the game loaded some pics are not there just don't look right when try to get on a server it locks up (bf2) ??? hope to get on & kill something next time

I had to uninstall the mod to stop getting the modified content error when playing BF2 on WiH. Don't know what the deal is with that. I was using the latest files on PR and the game worked the few min I got to stay in the server :woot::ky::dunno:

that is cool, i didnt get any screens, almost did. yeah, was fun as shit, we slugged it out across all maps....i have alot of fun even when i get pwned.

screw the commander....if a commander is yanking us around, you need to say no and set an accomplishable goal. best squads ive been in were squads with clear cut goals,,,, take it or defend it or ambush it.

im up for playing this morning. i have to go mid afternoon and wont be back till late tonight. will be on ts, grab me if any of you want to play.

the other people with that problem were simply using the wrong pr desktop icon.

I couldnt get my in game voip to work and i didnt want to be a hindrance to the squad... so i opted out, sorry guys.

when its wih only, not that big of a deal i dont think because we were all talking in ts too. dont opt out next time. i cant get voip to work most of the time either with ts...

what i do is, exit ts and pr. then get into pr first, get into a squad and confirm voip, then alt-tab out and join ts. that order of process allows both to work simultaneously.

damn aero, my router froze or something. i got dumped...then everything else shut down. then had to restart everything. by then you were gone.

dammit, i had 17 kills with the m249. i also had at least 5 tks. that was going to be one of my best infantry maps ever in pr. i cant believe i got dumped.

was fun.

we played insurgency mode earlier... took a picture of aero after he became officer...

in insurgency mode, as an insurgent you can be a civilian. armed only with a rocks, medkit, binoculars.....you can kill brits with rocks, but if they shoot you they get -100 points. however, if they stab you, they get the kill plus intelligence. pretty cool stuff. i just took the - points and mowed them down.

we were moving out and a troop ship was flying low and close, you can see the troops sitting in the back. those can hold 8 troops.

Well, I have done everything I can find to do but no matter what I do when I install PR I get kicked from the regular BF2 servers for modified content.

I have tried using no desktop icon and just finding PR servers I have in my history in the game. No luck. I know I am bound to be missing something stupid, but cant find anything on it at the PR site other than what I have tried.

Any advice? I would really like to play this mod

okay, to play this mod you have to install the core files, then the level files, and then the latest patch.

ONCE that is done you then have to run it from the NEW desktop icon that is created from the patch. The reason for this is that the new patch uses custom shaders.

If you run PR and then get kicked make sure you have run it from the proper icon, the pr target in the icon should be this:

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2"

Make sure these point to the right place for you as mine is on Vista.

Next, if you play PR and then get kicked or CTD, you must restart the game and exit out properly or you will get modified content on vanilla servers.

Thanks Drayu but I found the trouble. It seems if your game crashes, as mine did the last time, it doesnt unload the shaders so when you go to play BF2 or some other mod you get kicked for modified content. The fix is restart your PR game and exit it normally then the shaders are unloaded and everything is KOOL.

The fix was posted on the PR mod forums, was kinda hard to find. I would post the link but I didn't save it and now I cant find it.

Anyway thats the fix, if you got everything else right.
