Does anyone have any experience with Jetway Motherboards? I haven't been able to find much either way on them. I am considering this one for a build:

Ew...ew...ew...ew...Jetway...ew...

I used to sell parts at retail and, well, lets just say we quit selling Jetway.

I was afraid that they were talking a good line but full of :bs:

I looks good but not much info other than the mfg hype. I think I will stay with the big names I have used before:

ASUS
ABIT
BFG
DFI
MSI
SAPPHIRE

and maybe
Intel
XFX
EVGA
ECS

I guess I will add Jetway to the list with
ASROCK
FOXCONN
PCCHIPS
BIOSTAR

Since I have used these and all were craptacular:deadhorse2:

Yeah, thats about my list. ECS used to be on there, but they've improved quite a bit.

EVGA boards are good, they got off to a rocky start, but they've improved quite a bit as well.

I actually have two intel boards on my list of possibles for my next build. I put manufactures on the maybe list that I have never used. Unless they have a very bad reputation already, then they go on the SH_T list.

As for :
ASROCK
FOXCONN
PCCHIPS
BIOSTAR

I have horror stories from builds I did on all of them.

I have these two intel boards on my potential list.

My BIOSTAR story.

BIOSTAR K8NHA Grand 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb

I was building a computer for my son. A simple system that could play some games. I bought this board and used some left over stuff I had.

Processor: Athlon 64 3400xp (left over)
Memory: Corsair XMS 2-2-2 512 mb x3 (left over)
Video: ATI 9800 Pro 8x AGP (left over)
Sound: SoundBlaster Live 5.1 (new)
HD: Seagate 120 gig IDE (new)
All left over parts were from my system I was using at the time and worked when pulled.

I got the board and set about putting everything together. While installing the processor I noticed that a few of the capacitors near the processor looked funny, they were laid over. I touched them and the literaly fell out of the board. I flipped the board over and saw they had not even been soldered. So RMA #1.

Got the new board two weeks later. Installed everything *After a close inspection first* and started installing windows XP Pro. At the end of the install the system would not boot to window. I tried everything I could think of and nothing. It just sat there with the loading bar going and never booted. I tried four more Hard drives, all the same results. So RMA #2.

Got the new board just 10 days later. Installed everything and ended up having a dead #1 DIMM. RMA #3.

Got the new board. Board would not post. RMA #4.

Got the new board. Installed everything, booted up with XP Pro. Installed all the extra software. Had a dead PCI slot but still kept the board, 3 days after up and running it died of unknown causes and would not come on again. RMA #5.

Newegg contacted me by email and told me this board was temporaraly out of stock. I called them up and expressed my opinion of the board and the guy from newegg said, I am not suppose to tell you this but we are getting tons of these back. I would get another board if I were you. I said thanks and bought a ASUS board put the same stuff in it I had tried to put in the BIOSTAR and it worked perfectly. Infact it is still working.

During my ordeal I had tried to contact BIOSTAR support and never got anyone on the line, or any answers to my email. In fact the first 3 phone numbers I called for them from their websight were disconnected no longer in service. I finally got through on a fax line but had to leave a message that was never responded to.:bolt:
