Does that kill friendly on a FF server? I want to try it but I kill enough friendlies as it is :)

Yes it does!!

It is not a good perk to use on our server. Even thou it is not against our rules to use it dont be surprised if someone calls a vote to try and get you kicked off..

If you want to give marty a whirl, go to an FFA server, its awesome to blow up some punks.

Martyr is generally not allowed on FF=on servers. crappy perk anyway.

Don't forget to have the explosives perk on if you're doing a FFA server. :) Three grenades, explosives (is it "blast radius"?), and marty. Recipe for pissing people off and racking up a lot of kills.

If your going to get voted off the WiH server for using it then it seems like it would be easier to make it against the rules officially. That way there can be no hard feelings if it gets used and you get the boot. Can it be banned on the server side?

The reason I ask is that I was told when I went to play COD4 on WiH that it is not allowed. Yet I can't find where it is against the rules. Had I been booted for it I would have been pissed and rightfully so. Personally I don't think its good PR to tell people something is against the rules if it isn't, and it really is not good PR to vote people off because they use something like "Marty" or any other part of the game that can be used unless it is known up front that you can't. Remember all the BF 2 servers that did not allow spawn camping? Same thing, make it a server rule no use of martyrdom, then people will know up front they will get kicked if they use it.

It would be up to the players on the server at the time and not all are WiH members. It hasn't happened but a couple times because most people will take it off if asked, but a player that gets too many TK's with it could be banned because TK's are against the rules so generally you would be just pushing your luck.

Not saying I would ban you for killing me twice on the same map with Marty on.

Its just inconsiderate on a close map with FF on to have it on in the first place and stay next to your teammates in game.

Now if you want to charge head first into the fire so be it, but if you are shooting at someone right next to me with it on, its going to piss me off, and that has consequences.

As I said, It would be better public relations to make it official and ban it. It's like getting a parking ticket in a place you can legally park. It would piss you off. If you knew it was a no parking area then you just got to suck it up and pay the fine.

In my case I was just told it was not allowed. I said ok, and came here to look. After seeing it was not against the rules I thought wow, it's going to piss people off if they get kicked for using it. I realize it can create team kills and no doubt that is not kool. But, to be saying it is against the rules or to vote people out for using it is bad PR. Knowing the rules up front is what made the WiH BF2 server one of the best. I merely suggest the same winning formula be used on the COD4 server.

Its not smart to keep killing your teammates with it.

If you can play that perk without TKs, good for you and more power to you.

Players using MARTY are warned against using it. ie "Excessive TK's will result in a ban, use marty at your own risk"


if they insist on using marty and get excessive TK's they will be banned.

Yeah that and the fact that if I know you have marty on, I WILL NOT get your back because I could get TKed while trying to help you take a point. If you have marty on, I'm going to avoid you like ebola.

I made up one guy and use marty on him to play on the FFA servers. The rest I changed. Now if they come out with a marty that is a nuke I can promise you I WILL USE IT!!!!! One that pees on the guy that kills you would be good too.

But until then your all safe.

I still think it would save time, hard feelings, and make good pubic relations (Yes I know I spelled Pubic) to make it an official rule.

That's the problem, there's no one to tell. No one but us seem to play on our server. :hehehe:
