Oh god this game looks completly awsome. The way the creaters tell you what the game is going to be like and what you can do. I never played the 1st one but this one looks unbeleivable. The said the volcanoes erupt and the lava actually follows the terain of the map and biulds up the land. Anyways I was just so siked up i had to tell someone. Oh and another great feature is the fact that you can reqruit your intire city which can contain 1000s of ppl into an army and rip the oposing team to shreds.

oh and heres a link to a trailer and so interviews and real game footage:

Just a warning. I got the first one. PLayed it twice and never touched it again. It gets high marks on reviews because it looks cool and the graphics are out of control. Too bad the game play blows.

Well me and you have obvious differences in taste when it comes to games. I loved Black and white, I played it religiously for months before I decided to get my life back, and uninstalled it. Now a year, it has once again found it's way onto my hard drive.

Black and white didn't appeal to some people because of it's lack of structure, the game never really gives you a path to follow, or a specific mission goal. But that is what I found so appealing about it, there was never a certain way I had to complete the game, there was never someone telling me exactly how to do something, instead I had to descover, experiment, and explore the world around me, and you just don't get that experience from very many games.

Lets take for example the basic principle of B&W, your goal in the game is to spread your influence. You can do this in almost anyway you like, you can send your creature into enemy villages to try and scare and frighten beliefe out of people, you can build new villages to extend your influence closer to your enemy, perform spells on them, or your can just chunck rocks and fireballs at them for a while. This just goes to show how open and free this game is, screw GTA! This game has got some true freedom in gameplay.

Are you evil or good? Basically this game is a bit of a social experiment concerning a persons personality. Are you the kind of person who is going to win your enemies over with peace, and treat your villagers to kindness and mercy, or are you going to lightning bolt them every time they ask you for food! Well Thats up for you to decide, and it shows alot about your character, this game can be played in two basic ways, good, or bad. If your a good god, you will focus on building up your villages, and taking care of your creature. If your a bad god, you will focus your efforts on killing and torturing your villagers, and destroying everything that can be destroyed!

I would like someone to name a game that gives you that much freedom of choice, not many games will fit the bill, because Black and white was unique when it came out, and it is still unique today. A standing testimate to the video game artform, and an example of why we have video games, to challenge our minds and open us up to new ideas and thoughts. This is not merely a game, this is a piece of interactive art.

I will give you that... They did open the whole, your choices change the outcome kind of thing to the gaming industry. I thinnk Knight of the Old Republic uses some of the same concepts in their games and I think its more fun cause you're a fricken Jedi with a lightsabre.

I guesse Black and white is one of those niche games, some will love it, others will hate it.

Well their talking about B&W 1, although it looked terrific Back in 99, it looks a bit dated by todays standards. However B&W 2, which is what has been getting most of the media coverage nowdays, it absolutely gorgeous, with all of todays fancy special effects.

Here is a shot from black and white....

Gotta remember B&W is a Mollinux(sp?) game. All he makes generally are civilization, "God" games where you have to essentially build everything up yourself, from landmasses to people, etc.... It's Sim City x 10000 in terms of micromanagement so yeah alot of people won't like it.

In black and white 2, you can reach up into the sky and pull the sun around, so that shouldn't be a problem :yaya:
