VOIP Problems

In VOIP enabled servers I am not able to use my mic for communication. The icon pops up but nothing goes through. And even in squads with my friends we are not able to use it.. neither of us.... we joined about 5 different servers tonite that said they were VOIP enabled and not a single one worked. Anyone else having these problems or know a fix? I turned down my sound acceleration in dxdiag and also installed the latest drivers... no idea what to do now =(

Go into the audio settings in the game and make sure your Mic boost is checked. Mine keeps unchecking itself for some reason. In addition, I lost ALL of my key mappings once already. Now that was annoying.

I don't even think its that... because no sound is going through whatsoever and I've never used the mic boost. It worked before without mic boost now I've joined servers where it isn't working for anyone when it is enabled and should be working... any admins know what this is?

Yea, I've found tons of people around that are having problems with the VOIP... haven't seen any updates from EA... pretty disturbing that they can't at least publicly admit they have a problem!

I have the same prob Karl... and Needle, if I enable mic boost there's absolutely no feedback when i talk in microphone test. Dun think it works : P

Its a server problem. I was just in a server and VOIP was working PERFECTLY. The server crashed and my same squad rejoined and joined up with me again. Took us about a minute but we realized the mics quit working this time around.

Have you had problems on our server? we've been using VOIP on our servers since they started up.

Not that I can recall. The only problem I've had with your server is its empty alot.. its a great server though I don't understand. In time I guess it will get bigger. Most of my favorite games have been in WIH when it has a population though.

I don't think VoiP works on ranked servers, at least I have yet to see one that does. Was on IR last night trying to use it and the light would light up but none of the guys could hear me. Probably buggy server code.

We can get WiH #1 populated every nite if we wanted to, but it's been crashing every 6 hours when full. Either EA put some sort of timeout code in there or some crappy code isn't clearing out some variables. That's why it's empty.

We put WiH #2 back up as a 32 player server to see how stable a 32-player is. It was full for most of the nite last nite.

Typically, if it's empty, get on TS and get some folks to get on. It won't take long for it to get populated.
