Hmmm, I guess the warishell 2 server was takin down. I see no one playing n the warishell 1 server. Alot of peopel seem to be playing on the ranked servers. Could someone please post the IP's of lag-free ranked servers your playing on? I tried a few and I hate to say it was overrun with hackers but I got killed a lot in out of the way places with no one around, kinda sucks.

I say that sometimes but then I remember that the commander has scan and UAV so it's hard to tell if there are hackers.

I have yet to find any good ranked(payed for) servers, I just join up and play til I decide to move on. I think it was stupid to set the unlockables as for only ranked but eh, I don't make the games.

I agree with that Ragan, but what I think is really screwing over non-ranked servers is how LONG it takes to rank. I know they want to cater to those that want ranks to mean something etc. but it takes 10k points just to get the second unlock...thats 10k up from the 1k the first one takes. I have been playing my ass off on ranked servers and im not even at 5k. They should at least let the first 4 unlocks come fairly easy then beef up the points needed for the last ones for those that want to torture themselves.

Should go:

500 for the first two
2500 for the next
5000 for the next
10,000 for the next
And from there go up in 10k incriments. Even average players could get to 10k in a month or so and by that 10k you would have 4 of 7 unlocks, which is fair.

If you absolutely have too play on a ranked server to get your unlocks. Use these. They are the only servers that I have found to be lag free. Thank SSP Redy for the find.

You said they have their shit together though, the thing about playing on ranked servers is you want to play aganst a bunch of people that run around like headless chickens so you get a lot more points.

Actually it was pretty much only for yesterday evening that we played on ranked servers (after the main server crashed ~5ish). #2 was taken down because the only reason it was up was to try to see what the game would be like with 64 players on 32 player maps, unfortunatly most people filter out the smaller maps it appears, bah! But people should be back on the regular server tonight.

Back onto the regular server tonite fellas. I made some performance adjustments to the server machine itself to see if it makes any difference.

I just hope they hurry up and release the mod tools, I so want to check out EoD and PoE in BF2. Can't wait to do Bad Moon Rising with squads.

We(BFSupreme.com) had an empty server just lying around. The ranked servers are taking all the traffic, so we rented 32 player ranked server through EA, sounds good right? Well the server filled up in literally 30 seconds after it was placed on the server list, and we could not even get in, LOL. They offer no client to kick people outside of the game so we can join only once we are inside the game. This is the real kicker, the server is in Amsterdam so our ping was in the low hundreds but there was surprisingly little lag. EA just gave us the first server available. They also gave no advice what-so-ever on what settings you can change and what settings you can't, with that said we made some changes and taa-daa we were no longer ranked. When we went to the website, which is also how we access the server client and to get information on the issue it was down for like 8 hours, so we had a paid for ranked server just sitting there, unranked and unpopulated and noone to help us. So we are changing to a different server company called, Icongamer.com. Another possibly good company is artofwargaming.com, both of these companies offer ranked BF2 servers for about the same reasonable price, which is much less than what EA offers. Our new server will be up today and the server will be out of Virginia.

Wow! What a PITA!

That's part of the issue that the owner is struggling with right now. The inability to admin the server properly. Like you said, if it's full, admins can't even get into the server to make room for our regulars.

NO NO NO, i strongly discourage artofwar, everything they have lags like hell..........

There are some decent RANKED servers out there though. The ones I posted plus Captain Cal, Drayu, and I were screwing around on lag free RAnked servers this morning. Get your MAIN kit unlock, and alternate, and come back to Warishell. I didnt even need to say that, its much better killing your asssociates lag free.

Right now we are going to go with icongamer.com and possibly get one with artofwargaming.com to try each one out, but thanks for the heads up. :)

Using the server from EA, you can kick people once in-game using the "RCON", do you know what that is? I just found out last night, LOL. Anyway there are a couple of problems with this. First you have to get in the game :wallbash: Secondly, you have to put in the persons number, which of course noone is numbered like in BFV, so its a guessing game on who you actually kick  .

Something else that might interest you. There is a beta out for BF2CC that is being used with artofwargaming.com servers right now!!!!! So I'm sure its done by the same guy that did the BFV3C client :hump: So control of the BF2 servers are not far away!!!! :jester:

That's the key though. You have to be in-game to use Rcon. WE've been using Rcon to admin our servers since the demo came out. We've also been using the rcon version of bf2cc. The problem is that it can take a long time to get into your own server.

To find teh player number, hit TAB, then right click, then click on "manage". Find the player you want to kick and their number, then issue the rcon exec admin.kickplayer # command.
